Tell me something shit about your hometown

The retail sector of my town has this giant ugly clock on display, and it's been stopped at about quarter to five for years.
They did an article on it in the local newspaper, comparing it to the clock tower in Back to the Future. I'm tempted to persuade the council to change the time to 10.04, enshrining a BTTF reference in my town.

You should! If it's something that has to stay broken and fixed in place, might as well have some referential fun with it.

I have not lived there for several years, but Enid is my hometown. I had to Google to see if this still held true, and Wiki confirms:

"Enid continues to have the largest grain storage capacity in the United States and the third largest in the world."

before becoming the tour manager of SY (or European agent, I don't know what he was ;) ), and a good friend of the band (and still is) Carlos Van Hijfte started the record store Bullit in my hometown Eindhoven. That was truly the place to be for alternative music back then, not only rock/punk/experimental, but also house and rap etc. Sadly it closed 7 years ago. There's also the Effenaar, concert venue and Carlos became the booker for that venue and was responsible for bringing many new bands to the Netherlands or even Europe, e.g. Joy Division and SY themselves. But I wasn't much of a concert goer in my teens (I then lived in a suburb and none of my friends had my exquisite taste in music)

There are some pictures of SY that were taken by Carlos and/or in the region of Eindhoven in this zine. I bought a signed one from Lee ;)

This is one of the most famous buildings, the Evoluon, our own flying saucer

And of course there is Philips and PSV.

edit: oh wait, you asked about something shit as in negative, sorry. Oh well, I already mentioned PSV anyway :p
But also: carnaval

My town is pretty cool. (Columbus, Ohio USA) It's one of the fastest growing cities so we are starting to see effects from that. The city can't expand the roads fast enough for the added traffic, housing isn't being built fast enough, some places are becoming gentrified. What I like about this city is that it doesn't feel big so I hope that doesn't change. People here are way too obsessed with OSU football.

Isn't this better than being too distraught like Michigan football fans?

We have a hotdog joint called the Weiner's Circle. They'll flash you their titties after dark for a hefty tip.

back in the 90s there was a dc wayor who got caught smoking crack. made the national news and all.

then the other day i’m at the safeway looking for ice cream and this caught my eye

the bitch set me up!

hahahahaaa

those were good times for art and music in the city, long before the gentrifiers came in the wake of anthony williams and the control board. it was murder capital of the nation, but still...

That's what's weird to me. OSU always does well. One of the best teams in the country for a long time. One little mistake and the fans go apeshit. I'm not into sports but my family is and they follow less successful teams. You'd think the fans would be less critical and appreciate the wins.

I don't have a hometown. Never have. Never will.
