you can pick and choose the vows from the minister/comissioner i think. we chose the shortest possible one but i think there are some things they are legally bound to say.

if you don't wish to write yr own, do as jon boy says and ask the minister/whoever for a shortened version of traditional vows (we had all mentions of JESUS-GAWD struck from our vows -- for fear that my bride would burst into flames).
