Deluxe Nation?

Years ago, it was announced on the band's website that re-issues of Dirty, Goo, and Daydream Nation were going to be put out in deluxe format. Now, it took quite a while, but we have the Dirty and Goo deluxes. Can we assume that Daydream Nation is getting ready for a 2007 deluxe treatment, or will they wait for 2008 to make it a twenty-year anniversary, or will we just never get it?

For the record, I'd hate that last option.

I think it's coming out later this year. I can't wait. The tracks will probably sound a lot better remastered.

probaly cool bonus tracks too

Alex's Trip 04.13.2006 08:22 PM

I hope so, that'd rock.

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 04.13.2006 08:25 PM

I still haven't gotten goo reissued or any of the new stufff.

Alex's Trip 04.13.2006 08:34 PM

I need the Dirty Reissue, but it isn't at the top of my priorities. I'm thinking I should get the regular goo too, since I only have the deluxe.

golden child 04.13.2006 08:55 PM

yeah i want the deluxe dirty too...

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 04.13.2006 09:01 PM

I had both versions of dirty, then I lent the origonal to a friend so I could barrow a nirvana bio and we never traded back.

I just got my "Deluxe" Goo today. I haven't gotten a chance to listen to it yet, but I'm looking forward to it. As for the Daydream Nation" Deluxe, that would be great, they should make it a boxset, and give us live versions of each song off it, from shows from the year it came out up to thier latest tour. Ok, I know, don't wake me up, I'm daydreaming.

I saw them play silver rocket on SNL.

I think you mean David Sanborn's show Night Music & what a fantastic rendition it is; it's literally one of the finest moments of a live band on broadcast TV ever. Why SY have never played SNL is a mystery to me.

It was 20 years ago today...DDN deluxe should perhaps be realeased next year so that the mainstream media can write about it. What's been circulated from the live material from those DDN tours is lacking in both sound quality & performance quality in my opinion. I saw them at the Uptown Lounge in '88 (CL can update the venue) & it was a mess. A loud mess & I enjoyed it nevertheless & it was my first Sonic Youth show. Some people stand by Venlo, but honestly, my favorite DDN show is probably the Charlottesville, VA @ Traxx audience recording. Maybe the band is considering putting the 2nd Peel session on it. Outtakes of alternate takes would rule.

That was Night Music, not SNL. That'd be awesome if they played SNL, though. Back around the '70s and '80s, and parts of the '90s they actually had pretty good musical guests.

A Deluxe DDN would be absolute heaven.

I cna't for DDNDE. It's going to be the best.

I'm hoping for DN Deluxe, but I think it's compromised as they're gonna leave Geffen...
