Sonic Youth are a glorious anomaly: A band who redrew the lines to suit themselves decades ago, but who still manage to find new directions for their own well-hewn aesthetic. They've played as large a part as anyone in shaping the indie rock universe as we know it today.

And the Sonic Youth universe continues to expand. On June 9, Matador will release their 16th album, The Eternal. To celebrate, we're letting them take over the video side of our website. Next week is Sonic Youth week on Pitchfork.tv!

i saw that, they are going to do an episode of the A-D-D series(its called something like that) where they record live a few songs on to a shitty old tascam tape for that ultra hip lo-fi sound. it should be great!

how does pitchfork tv work? will the videos be on there after next week too, in some kind of archive? can we go back and watch over and over again? or is it like a 1 off thing where if you miss it your fucked?

I've already captured the videos. I can upload them on here right now, but i wanted to wait untill tomorrow when the second part will air.

If you want to get them too, i've searched for at least 10 softwares and Replay Media Catcher had the best results. It captures the stream as it is, without converting it at all. Also, there are no glitches or dropped frames.
