Word. When I get home from work I'm finnin to get these. God bless De La Soul for going total Radiohead and proving the Metallica was WRONG, free music is NOT stealing, its not hurting bands profits, its helping promote them. Fuck record company myths.

Due to record company BULLSHIT De La Soul's catalog is not available online. at least that is the reason they are giving for this. De La still puts on an amazing show too. catch them if you can!

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 02.14.2014 11:29 PM

Propz to De La Soul. Just got my downloads, I haven't been this happy since Crosses gave out their first EP for free or when Radiohead gave me In_Rainbows for free AND sent a thank you email.

De La <3

Severian 02.15.2014 03:12 PM

Is this De La Soul thing ongoing, or limited to one day? The article I read said yesterday was the day, so.. Am I SOL or what?

Severian 02.15.2014 03:17 PM

Also, does anybody fuck with Dopplegangaz? I've been listening to their 2013 album Hark pretty constantly, and I'm impressed. It's pretty fucking incredible, and I can't believe I missed the album last year.

I've also been giving Has-Lo's remix album, Conversation B, a lot of play lately. I'm starting to become interested in these MelloMusicGroup affiliated artists, even though they're a little overly PC in their approach.

louder 02.15.2014 04:40 PM

so Tha Carter 5 is coming out 5.5.2014. there's still a long time to go, but i'm already excited.

pretty good list in my opinion. maybe a bit generic.

louder 02.19.2014 03:16 AM

ok guys, there are some great news today.

first of all, Pharrell just announced a new solo album "GIRL", coming out March 3 (which is exactly two weeks from now).

louder 02.19.2014 03:18 AM

secondly, Vince Staples posted the tracklist for his new album.

No I.D. all over the album!

WOW. i always knew this guy will make it big one day.

Severian 02.19.2014 10:27 PM

Picked this up yesterday immediately after realizing it existed.

It's funny- I don't actually think this is hip hop. This is dub/dance shit... without a hip-hop beat, the actual rapping on the record has a different feel entirely. It's interesting, though, and I plan to listen to it relentlessly until it becomes less of an enigma.

For a 2xCD release that I purchased "new" (Used section, but still shrink-wrapped) for a whopping $5.99, it's certainly nothing to sneeze at. Even if I end up hating it.

All great albums, but all so obviously great that nobody ever needs to say they're great again (except those from the past 7-10 yrs).

Man. Great, yeah, but fucking boring.

noisereductions 02.20.2014 09:38 AM

so far for 2014 my heavy rotation records are Mogwai's RAVE TAPES and the Crosses album.

That Del grew on me a bit, but.

New Beck album later this month.

And then some hip hop I'm excited for: A$AP Mob, Pharrell and Young Money in March. Illmatic reissue in April.

Rob Instigator 02.20.2014 09:51 AM

Drake don't even RHYME man.

louder 02.20.2014 04:49 PM

don't really know what to expect from this tracklist.. Happy is very well-produced, but at the same time it's kinda cheesy and annoying to me. it's still Pharrell though, so i'm looking forward to it.
