I prefer Low to Slowdive, but I don't know I'd say they're more relevant. Seems like a great pairing either way.

I'm a little late with this one (despite being a Low-fan also), shame on me ;) ... didn't pay attention to this record for some unknown reason, untill now.
This is really good. Couldn't resist the purchase of the vinyl. Check :) I hope the tour will bring them to my neighbourhood next May.
Gonna listen to the earlier stuff also, but right now, this one's got my attention completely! Thanks for the link.

Another Low-show in January has just been announced:
January 16 : Maastricht, Netherlands @ Muziekgieterij

Think I'll go to this one also! And I got the date right this time :)

_tunic_ 11.14.2014 06:28 PM

hurray
must see which one(s) I'll be able to attend, I'll probably need to celebrate a birthday on one of the nights...

_tunic_ 11.18.2014 02:08 AM

One more date for the January tour:
01/24/15 Athens, Greece GR at Fuzz Club

I was wondering if anybody has seen the Low-movie 'How To Quit Smoking'?
I can't find any info about a release (digital, blu-ray, dvd, ....) in the near future. Would be an intstant-buy for me :)

And I can't stop hoping that Low will release the live shows from last year, in which they played their entire catalogue, in some format ...
Problably won't be happening, but there's nothing wrong with hoping.

copy/paste from what I wrote to the Low mailing list:

Before I give you tonight's setlist, here's some more details about the Antwerpen show on Sunday. This will be the 15 year celebration party of Duyster, a radio program on the Belgian channel Studio Brussel, which is the best station in the world as far as I know. At least far better than any channel in the Netherlands. I hardly ever listen to the radio, but if I am, it's StuBru.
The whole evening will be broadcast live from the Trix Bar, from 8PM until midnight (timezone is GMT +1). You should be able to stream from http://radioplus.be/#/stubru or check http://stubru.be/duyster But it would be great if someone could record it from the airwaves somehow too. Any volunteers?

Low is scheduled for 21u35. So I assume their full set will be broadcast live, but don't blame me if that won't happen.

And here's the setlist from tonight's show in Maastricht (16/1/2015):
No Comprende
Plastic Cup
On My Own
Holy Ghost
Monkey
Death of a Salesman
Pissing
Especially Me
When I go Deaf
Point Of Disgust
Words
Spanish Translation
Just Make It Stop
Landslide
(encore)
Dinosaur Act
Murderer

Very nice venue, an old factory hall (the name translates as musicfoundry). I'll definitely visit that place again. Highlights: the new songs! I usually need to hear them a couple of times before I'll like them, but Landslide and especially Spanish Translation are beautiful. And besides those the usual like Words and Deaf and Murderer.
My recording turned out very fine, at least the parts I've heard of it so far.

Some snippets from the Sunday's live broadcast on Studio Brussel were recorded by fellow Dimer auto_pilot. Here's a link that will probably expire soon because it's already a week old: http://we.tl/ov3xwnxLfq

So Maastricht was a very nice show. But the next day in Utrecht was one of the best shows of Low I've ever seen. Set included a delicious Lullaby as the encore. Sunday in Antwerpen after Utrecht was a bit of a downer, 1000+ capacity big rock hall compared to a small seated theater. But it was still good to see them play in such a large venue. I'll share all three of my recordings at some point, but probably not any time soon. I'll be too occupied with work for the next month ...

Thanks. I've captured the whole Duyster-broadcast, not only the performance of Low, but also the rest. Don't know if anybody wants that? I can always upload it with WeTransfer.

Looking forward to your recordings ... sadly I wasn't able to see them due to unforeseen circumstances. I'll wait patiently off course :)

_tunic_ 01.26.2015 02:57 PM

I've uploaded the second night of the three, the one in Utrecht, which was the best one and one of the best times I 've ever seen them: https://archive.org/details/low2015-...t.ca-14.flac16

I would love to have the full broadcast, sadly I won't have time to listen to it probably any time soon though

Question for the LOW diehards:

Saw them open for slowdive in toronto (unreal show!) and they played this song which i think was referred to as "high & right"...cant find it on an album though. Great song that starts off nice and easy and then picks up energy in the middle with alan&mimi shouting "you were too riiiiggghhtttt" over a good ol motorik-like drumbeat.

Is this an unreleased song? Same question about No Comprende? 2 great tracks but cant find anything about them...
