A tribute to the late Steven Parrino

"Black Noise" is a box set of 32 publications conceived according to the model of American comic books. Each volume is designed by a different artist, linked in some way to Steven Parrino, by projects and exchanges, by friendship, by reciprocal inspiration. "Black Noise" celebrates a format that Steven Parrino was fond of, a culture that was familiar to him. The only constraint upon the authors invited in spring 2005 was the format and the title of the overall publication. Some directly evoke Steven Parrino's personality, whereas others produce a less referential contribution.

when sonic youth said it was fine to bring recording material to their shows, they obviously meant it was also fine to pirate their work

I find it funny how Genesis P-Orridge is INVOLVED in everything, as if his insight is worth anything.

in terms of uploading content....that sorta kills the thrill of the hunt. sorry...im a supporter of smaller labels and won't pirate that sorta stuff. if you want the complete metallica discography....then thats a different story...

I'm gonna have to try and pick that up.

I got the Thurston issue today, here's the front cover:

this thread reminded me of something i've been toying with for over a decade...an itemized list of Sonic Youth Etc..how much i've spent on Sonic Youth since about 1990-91...i'm very disturbed by how much i've spent on them over the years...one particular decade i spent over 12,000 dollars on Sy.

anyone interested in such a list?

without Gen and TG, we probably wouldn't be having this discussion now.
