I love this thread. I haven't heard The Eternal yet, but I think that threads like this are neccessary with every work of Art - be it Sgt Pepper or the Mona Lisa or Finnegan's Wake..... What a huge bore it would be if something appeared without debate. Art creates debate. Don't take it personally if someone adores or hates this album.

also i haven't heard eternal yet but by now i love the cover art, deep and intense, i hope the music sound with the same spirit...anyway S.Y. will never broke my heart, the music could more pop than the old days, but the feeling is the same as they started, more older,more mature...but they are still the Sonic Youth, and that will not change.
