what about your....

favourite CAN album????
Just listening to Ege Bamyasi and can't stop thinking how influential the sound of this album still is....

Cantankerous 08.22.2006 08:08 PM

who the hell is CAN and why did you find it so necessary to put 846 letters in your username?

nomadicfollower 08.22.2006 08:09 PM

Tago Mago probably.

Cantankerous 08.22.2006 08:12 PM

ooh i just looked them up and they look very interesting, i bet there are some records of theirs at work and i will be sure to pick one up. thank you, in a very offhanded way. and thank YOU, nomadicfollower. i will try to find that one.

nomadicfollower 08.22.2006 08:15 PM

Too much talk of Can?

Savage Clone 08.22.2006 08:38 PM

Tago Mago, Ege Bamyasi, Monster Movie, Delay 1968.
Impossible to choose, but those are my top 4.
Cantankerous, you would be wise to investigate.

Ege Bamyasi is the only I've heard. I like it

Toilet & Bowels 08.22.2006 09:02 PM

ege bamyasi is the only one i've heard, i love it so much that it kind of prevented me from wanting to buy more, because i never got tired of putting it on.

Iain 08.23.2006 02:32 AM

Tago Mago is better I think, you should get that one for sure. I only have those and have heard Monster Movie and Future Days but wasn't so keen on them.

What are the remasters like though? I have the remastered Ege Bamyasi and it sounds great but I didn't have the original so couldn't compare. I have a non-remastered Tago Mago and wondered if the sound is that much better.

porkmarras 08.23.2006 03:58 AM

Either Tago Mago or Monster Movie.Fuck it!I'm partial to this band so i'll say that i love them all.

Savage Clone 08.23.2006 10:09 AM

I can't believe I forgot to mention the essential "Soundtracks" album!
That has several of their greatest tracks on it, like Mother Sky.

Toilet & Bowels 08.23.2006 10:22 AM

as a result of this thread i downloaded a few can albums and just listened to you doo right. hello early sonic youth.

Savage Clone 08.23.2006 10:44 AM

I don't suppose I need to tell you after listening to that tune that their original singer (American Malcolm Mooney) had some mental health issues.

Glice 08.23.2006 12:37 PM

Between Tago Mago and soundtracks for me. I never really got into Delay.

bikinikillbillchillthrill 08.23.2006 03:49 PM

if u asked me 3 years ago I would definately suggest tago mago as well. Soundtracks is OK not better than monster movie though. Anyway, Ege Bamyasi was one of the midnite re-discoveries.

o o o 08.23.2006 04:41 PM

my favourite is Ege Bamyasi... and after that comes Tago Mago and Future Days...
i remember having some issues with Tago Mago at first, but then liking it each time better. in fact, i should listen to it again to see if it has not topped Ege Bamyasi now. Mushroom is such an amazing song.

Everyneurotic 08.23.2006 04:46 PM

i have tago mago, fucking rules...i also have some kickass boots.
