One of the few times I was tempted to steal something was with that Ayler box.
I was in Baltimore, where I don't live and won't be going back to anytime in the foreseeable future, at a store that I knew was closing the next week.
I didn't give in, but I was definitely having a crisis of conscience.

I've seen it. I think a lot of people would buy it regardless of the content - it's such a beautiful case.

I also saw the Merzbox once. Suffice it so say, I didn't (and am unlikely to ever) have the money for it. Still, I touched it with my hands.

I overdrew my bank account to buy the Ayler box first time I saw it. I couldn't eat for a month, but it was totally worth it.

Is it really that good? I would like one a lot. It's a lovely looking thing indeed.

Yeah... I think for a lot of hardcore record collectors it's the kind of thing you buy because, even if you never listen to it, you know someone will bay exorbitant amounts for it eventually.

I would love to own it as the most ridiculous thing in my collection.

It's a beautifully ridiculous boxset for sure.The idea of it makes throwing away a big chunk of your dosh like the right thing to do.

I think that's actually pretty reasonable. You'd pay with your arse for overseas postage, but I reckon anything that works out under £600 is pretty reasonable considering the magnitude/ rarity/ potential for eventual re-sale.

I don't know about the Merzbox....I know some dudes who own it and most of them admitted they didn't make it through the 5th or 6th disc.
it's all same shit anyway, Merzbow will never change.

Not necessarily true though.His analogue stuff differs from his more digital stuff quite a bit.
