Let's massacre a band vol.2- Grateful Dead

I liked this concept, I liked the thread, I'm keeping it going. I picked at random a band from my iTunes, the dead's number came up. Lets get to work..

Bobby, the shorts? What the fuck is up with the shorts?

I mean I was thinking it was just the 80s but then this motherfucker came back with Ratdog in these things!

ni'k 02.17.2010 02:36 PM

i would just like to remind you all i already did this thread. so that we can save some time.

http://www.sonicyouth.com/gossip/showthread.php?t=33664

it was a spectacular affair, at the end i was crowned king of dix for my contribution to the humanities.

and there's nothing wrong with those shorts whatsoever.

Crumb's Crunchy Delights 02.17.2010 03:40 PM

never mind the shorts what about the music (sorry daddy)

Crumb's Crunchy Delights 02.17.2010 03:40 PM

their fans must be dead in the head - i call them dead heads

Crumb's Crunchy Delights 02.17.2010 03:42 PM

what do dead heads say when they run out of dope?

what's this sh*t music?

Glice 02.17.2010 04:29 PM

Including the catatonically delirious no-ear masochists who think they like the Grateful Dead, nobody here likes the Grateful Dead. Moot thread.

The only good thing about the Grateful Dead is that they're not Phish. Which is a bit like saying that some child-raping murderers are sometimes not also mimes or Bono.

SuperCreep 02.17.2010 05:10 PM

i like live/dead a bit, but all of their other stuff i've heard sounds like doodley doodley derp derp ad nauseum to me. there's very few albums i loathe more than american beauty.

but yeah, uh, at least they aren't phish.

No you don't.

Seriously though, I mean this quite sincerely: if you - any of you - want me to tell you what you actually think at any point, do just let me know. I'm here to help.

thats not entirely true.. in my library are nearly 100 soundboard recordings, a dozen concert DVDs, and I have a dead shirt for every day of the week ;)

batreleaser 02.17.2010 07:05 PM

nope, "workingman's dead", "anthem from the sun", shit tons of live stuff, all good, given the right mood.

Glice 02.17.2010 07:22 PM

the Grateful Dead Are Not Good You Spacky Fucking Spacklords.

TheFoxBen 02.17.2010 07:42 PM

The Grateful Dead ? They suck. The only good thing they did was providing a sample for an Animal Collective song.

(am i doin' it rite ? is that a good massacre ?)

automatic bzooty 02.17.2010 10:43 PM

MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN

Dr. Eugene Felikson 02.17.2010 10:48 PM

I've never understood why anyone liked these guys either. Must be a generational thing.

pbradley 02.18.2010 03:16 AM

My mom told me she was a "Truckin"-era Deadhead.

I don't know what this means, precisely, but the phrase "What a long, strange trip it's been" comes from that song. Can't mean anything good.

atsonicpark 02.18.2010 07:02 AM

Occasional interesting moment, more annoying than anything.

floatingslowly 02.18.2010 09:31 PM

don't they sound like Phish?

floatingslowly 02.18.2010 09:34 PM

EVOLghost 02.18.2010 10:58 PM
