I have Ys and the Ys Street Band EP, and I really can't say either of them sucked me in.

4/5 Very cool stuff.

(on vinyl)
3/5 Iggy really is the weak link here. He really doesn't sound passionate enough, and it doesn't help that the lyrics (I know they are supposed be dumb) just dont work/aren't good (not only are they dumb, but they have too many words to be stooges songs) but the band sounds great and its if nothing else a fun listen.
Iggy does sound really good though when he kind of does his low, calmer singing on this one (passing cloud for instance)

I've never been too sure about that song 'I Don't Blame You' being about either Beck or Bill Callahan.

acousticrock87 01.08.2009 07:11 PM

It's obviously about Billy Corgan.

I always assumed it was about Cobain.

I mean Callahan could make SOME sense, because of their past relationship. But Beck I don't see at all. At any rate, the lyrics definitely seem to be make sense Cobain-wise.

acousticrock87 01.08.2009 09:52 PM

Wikipedia says probably Cobain, and possibly Elliot Smith except that he wasn't dead yet. Cobain would be a little boring, though.

It could not have been Beck.

A little boring? That's a shitty thing to say.
