I love Hex Enduction Hour totally and got me back into perverted and all the really great stuff like Deer Park, Wings, Hip Priest and Smile. Then recently I bought Fall Heads Roll and I really don't like it that much at all beyond the Aspen song - it doesn't really sound like the same band (though im aware it isnt) and really simplfied down... So it's hard for me to tell if I like them - There's some stuff that I absolutely love by them and some stuff I can't stand or just annoys the fuck out of me.

Getting to the point what Fall album should I go for next? I hear the Peel Sessions is an essential I should save up for but aside from that what album should I go for?

get "458489 a sides"

radarmaker 08.26.2008 07:27 PM

Get the Peel box first though.

I probably should have looked at the page before this... but basically I'm looking for the things that are more noisy and interesting lyrically and well, not dull or annoying like Heads Roll or stuff like Victoria I've seen. Is like the earlier stuff more like that and I should hunt those down? Or like what's the cut off point when they get bad. I just don't know. I'm not normally a fan of compilations at all though.

i have never heard a bad fall album. the stuff with brix is their best if you ask me though.

auto-aim 08.26.2008 07:35 PM

Brix? who or what was brix? What albums or years would that be?

Cantankerous 08.26.2008 07:36 PM

how the fuck do you people not know who brix smith is?

How'd you get into them then? what's you favourite album?

Cantankerous 08.26.2008 07:42 PM

when i learned about post punk

my favourite is the wonderful and frightening world of the fall

auto-aim 08.26.2008 07:49 PM

I'll probably go for all of the earlier albums - nothing outside of the 80s

Toilet & Bowels 08.26.2008 08:01 PM

the fall started to turn shit when brix smith joined, however everything they did prior to her arrival and marc riley's departure is pure gold

Except the 70's stuff, of course.

I like everything they've done, with the exception of Cerebral Caustic, Are You Are Missing Winner, and Fall Reformation TLC.

I really hope they announce a US tour soon. I absolutely have to see them before I die.

atsonicpark 08.26.2008 08:47 PM

I've never heard a bad Fall album either.

GROTESQUE is the best.

atsonicpark 08.26.2008 08:48 PM

FALL HEADS ROLL is probably their worst.

batreleaser 08.26.2008 08:50 PM

favorite band, again

sarramkrop 08.26.2008 08:51 PM

Choco.

noisereductions 08.27.2008 07:18 AM
