Europeans ( this includes the English) have become a passive bunch

Haven't they? Discuss.

dale_gribble 08.05.2010 08:03 PM

hasn't everyone? discuss.

blunderbuss 08.06.2010 11:53 AM

If you say so. Yeah, I guess.

radarmaker 08.06.2010 12:43 PM

Eh, whatever...

Rob Instigator 08.06.2010 01:45 PM

passive in what manner?

as in they are no longer actively trying to engage in colonialism?

Or they just don't give a fuck bout nothin no more?

tesla69 08.06.2010 01:48 PM

Maybe the genocide in Yugoslavia in the 90's busted their kharma?

Rob Instigator 08.06.2010 01:56 PM

Maybe the fact that "Europe" does not exist?

everyone knows India sits on it's own tectonic plate, like "europe" but since it has long since been merging with the Asian tectonic plate (millions and millions of years, like "europe") no one considers India it's own continent. (they call it the sub-continent, whatever that means.)

The whole definition of a "Europe" serves solely to designate one part of eurasia apart from the other.

There really are only 6 continents.

North America
South America
Australia
Antarctica
Africa
Eurasia

to claim "europe" as a separate continent is the ultimate in geographical favoritism and jingoism, spearating the educated, progressive, forward-thinking whities in "europe" from the heathen sub-races in Asia

think bout it!

gualbert 08.06.2010 02:26 PM

You forgot Greenland.
And England.
And Japan.
etc.

And to call north and south americas two different continents, because they're separated by an artificial river, does it make you think?

england is an island, and part of the Eurasian continental plate. japan is an island and part of the eurasian continental plate. volcanic islands like iceland, hawaii, greenland, etc are also not continents.

did you now pay attention in 8th grade science class?
;)

North and South American are two separate continental plates, which connected very recently (geologically) and will soon (geologically) disconnect once again.

Not much.
But to me, continents are about geography, politics and History, not about tectonic plates. Studying them can make one able of predicting earthquakes, that's about it.

shabbray2.0 08.08.2010 09:07 AM

Genteel Death 08.08.2010 02:09 PM

What an incredibly stupid thread I've started here. I remember being drunk and breaking the new rule (again) I set for myself never to start threads while under the influence ever again. Anyway, have a good Sunday you all.
