Hey you seem to be a forum guru. i have noticed that everyone has heard Rather Ripped. could you upload it as i have only heared the song they have put up on their myspace called Incinerate

Really want to hear.

truncated 04.16.2006 08:17 AM

Not that I'm endorsing or condemning the download, but I think there are several links in the Sonic sharing forum.

SecretGirl13 04.16.2006 08:20 AM

No Star, wouldn't it be rather disrespectful and...STUPID...to upload RR onto the fan site of the very band who doesn't want you to hear the album until June? There is a very long thread about not doing what you just requested. Plus I think chabib might get so fed up with people requesting the bootleg on the official (read: Geffen can prosecute you for violation of intellectual property laws) Sonic Youth boards that he might just be forced to kick your ass. So if you're gonna download it (only your respect for the band can stop you), do it somewhere else and save your own ass and noumenal's.

I have the spend the whole day with family! AH.
Thank you, Easter.

My mom was raised Catholic, but stopped practicing, so we grew up without religion. Her parents, however, used to give her a hard time about not attending religious holiday family functions, so we would do that without actually celebrating it. We celebrated Christmas and Easter, but insofar as we got presents and Easter eggs. So essentially, we discarded religion and embraced the secular, materialistic, self-serving sides of holidays. Which I don't mind at all. I have been to church 4 times in my life, 4 different denominations, and none of them have been Catholic churches. What goes down on Easter in a Catholic church?

I think thats how everybody celebrates religious holidays now. Its just a time for people to exchange gifts, but what really happens is that huge bilion £ companies use these holidays to make profit, which i think is really wrong. Cos those fat cat business snobs, who advertise and sell really dont care about how jesus died on the cross etc....Just about how much cash they can make in the quickest time. Thats why i refused any easter egg i was given today, im not religious, but i think its wrong.

I don't blame the businesses - why not seize an opportunity for profit? If you're going to criticize modern celebrations of religious holidays, find fault with people who claim to be religious, but buy into the marketing ploys. They're the ones who commercialize these holidays.

Frankly I could give a shit how people choose to celebrate religious holidays - religious principles are quite personal, and whether they compromise their own is inconsequential to me.

I feel myself canting dangerously toward criticizing certain religious denominations, so I'll leave it at that.

I hate pastels.
And I'm not big in Jesus either.
I like the vestigial pagan elements though.

Meh....I don't celbrate Easter at all so this weekend has just been some extra time off work. I might go to Santa Pod tomorrow to see some drag racing but, on the other hand, I might not as it would mean getting up at 6am.

Don't really celbrate Christmas either these days.

Gulasch Noir 04.16.2006 11:42 AM

My father still hide eggs for me and i have to find them. I'm 24 but it's still fun.

They sell these famous chocolate filled eggs here. I can eat one a year, otherwise I throw up.

Well, if these companies didnt create such a hype over a religious holiday and commercialise it, then the public wouldnt have anything to spend their money on. But your also right about the people who claim to be religious, and celebrate the true religious meanings of the holidays, yet shell out hundreds of pounds on gifts and everything associated with celebrating christmas...Its all messed up.
