Yup! Got it Monday. I didnt remember the sound being so great on it. The recording is really, really clean (except on Kim's vox on "Flower" for some reason?). Super-soundboard. Can't even hear the audience. At any rate, I like it a lot mroe than I remembered like the mp3 version I had listened to prior. |

I'm assuming you guys are talking about Islands at the beginning of this page (haven't checked the other page). Pretty good band. Not really my thing anymore, but they write great songs and are way better than the Unicorns. I saw 'em live and they were.. okay.
Ex-Models "Chrome Panthers" sounds nothing like their other album, greedrex. I like it though. It's just two guys, doing a really repetetive, noisey thing. Taking a guess it wasn't very well-recieved considering the gap from that album to any new material. But it's pretty cool; way different than the other stuff. I'm listening to http://www.zshare.net/download/55483730c3b5a559/ which is 2 albums by Copycat Massacre. Any fans of tuxedomoon, residents, renaldo and the loaf, snakefinger, etc should get this. It's about 100 tracks of crazy bedroom experiments from 2 extremely talented outsider musicians, very very weird melodic bizarre pop songs using every instrument you can think of. Great shit. |
Adam, I got GEORGE & JAMES yesterday. Shit's awesome. I really REALLY like the Gershwin stuff on there, because well, I like Gershwin. And I love f'd up covers. And I meant to ask you is THIRD REICH & ROLL out of print? EMusic has a lot of Residents albums, but not that one, and I remember being super intrigued by yr description.

^^ AC = always well-documented he he
thx , will form my own opinion on the new exmodels in about huh 5 minutes. |

Or less than $6 if I download it from Amazon digital! That sounds more reasonable to me.
Give me a rundown of like Top 5 Residents albums, and their MO. So far I only have 2: PETTING ZOO (meh) and GEORGE AND JAMES (awesome). |

this Islands LP with that awesome cover.
Not my cup of tea, but good fun. Sounds Arcade Fire-ish. |

yes, people i have been listening to MPP all day long from 2.00 PM till now (10.00PM) with only a couple of hours off the screen. On quality headphones. This did the trick for me. Headphones.it took me a while to dig this. I'm really DEEP into it though.
