i think Fifty's upcoming album can be great if he picked the right tracks, he's been working with some big producers (Just Blaze, Dr. Dre, Havoc, S-1, etc).

that mixtape he dropped last year (The BIG 10) was a nice surprise.

Patti Smith - Banga

I wasn't really expecting much from this but I really quite like it. There's nothing remotely mindblowing about it, just some very decent songs done in that very easy on the ear aor/nu folk style. It's far too vegetarian cafe-friendly to fully endorse but, for what it is, it's decent.

i think g-unit is a pretty good group that almost never comes close to their potential.

the mobb deep album on g-unit was the worst thing ever

louder 06.30.2012 05:53 AM

yeah, i guess you're right. The Documentary was all carried by Dr. Dre's production team and Fifty's hooks. it's ridiculous how Game dropped such a solid debut without showing any talent.

Fifty is obviously one of my fav rappers, but i also like Game. i think he had a charm, even though he gotta be one of the least imaginative lyricists i've heard.

louder 06.30.2012 07:07 AM

easily a top 3 SY album post-DDN.

word. I prefer Necro as a producer than a rapper.

Rapper-wise, he's fun but gimmicky. But his beats are great. I love the shit he's done with Cage for instance.

I fucking love Game. Documentary, Doctor's Advocate and even LAX are all super solid in my opinion.

The Documentary is my fav, but i like all of his albums besides R.E.D. he did have a nice run through the mid-late 00's.

R.E.D had way too much filler, he dropped the ball with this one. Ricky was an amazing track though.

I've been listening on and off today to a fantastic mixtape done for me by the equally fantastic GD. I'll listen to it properly tomorrow when I'm in the house alone (although my son was tapping his feet to it earlier).

They're one of those bands I always meant to check out properly but often just managed to hear a song here and there and that was it. I recently came across a cheap vinyl copy of ''Viva'' on Discogs and ordered it without thinking too much about it. Biggest surprise I’ve had in a while. Such fantastic music, production etc. I am currently obsessed with the song ‘’Geld’’. I can't stop playing it every day at least 10/12 times.
