hell yeah. Carter II is my favorite, but this album is so sort of untouchable in a weird way. Like it encapsulates him at that peak, and it definitely captures this moment in time. It was the last time i've ever seen so many people out in the middle of the day looking to buy the same album. So weird. Now the store I bought it from is closed, like most other records stores taht aren't in malls and charge $18 for a CD.

btw, I wouldn't quite say he's fallen off either. I think you know I liked Rebirth but that was just out of so-fucking=crazy-I-love-it feelings. I Am Not A Human Being was good, at least better than a stop-gap in jail release should be. But I have to say Carter IV is really good. Certainly not as good as II or III, but I like it a lot. I think it's actually pretty solid except for the fucking T-Pain song.

Carter 1, C2, Like Father Like Son, Dedication 2, Da Drought 3, The Drought Is Over 2, C3, No Ceilings..
are all my shit, i can listen to them all day.
but i just can't take Wayne after that era. the hunger is not there anymore.
still, he had a quite legendary run throughout a few years.

btw, surprisingly he did much better on Take Care than on any verse from Tha Carter 4 for me.
gives me some hope for the future..

I'm surprised you don't like C4. It's definitely better than Rebirth and Human Being. I mean tracks like "John," "Six Foot Seven," etc definitely feel like he realizes he's got something to prove again. I don't know. I like it a lot. did you like the Young Money album? I thought it was damn good.

kind of love how these three covers align, band name in flux, encompassing heavy avant drone rock and pastoral folk ambiance as points on a continuom...

not sure I have a favorite, but...

Kid606 and Friends: We Are All Stars Vol 1 is excellent. It's a remix album, though.

Kill Sound Before Sound Kills You is up there. Just a solid "song based" album. Tha'ts a lot like Down With The Scene, only I think I like it more.

GQ On The EQ is a good collection of singles/errata.

Pretty Girls Make Raves is fun as hell. I like htis one a lot even if it is just pretty straight "dance" music.

OH! Actually, Action Packed Mentalist Brings You The Fucking Jams might be my favorite, though it's all weirdo remixes he did of random shiz like mashing Radiohead and Boyz II Men over noise or speeding up D12 and DMX and mixing it with "Walk Like An Egyption." Tons of great stuff on there. Yeah. That's my favorite.

...but still, there's tons of great stuff in his discography, and most is different from the rest. PS I Love You is really pretty.

I live for remixes, especially Kid606 ones. The Locust's "I'll Be a Monkeys Uncle Kid606 Remix". Hot damn, soooo good. I looked over that Kid606 and Friends Vol. 1 many times, and great and stacked selection, can't wait to hear it.

I downloaded Kill Sound ages ago, I really enjoyed some of the tracks on that album. I like him too much to download anymore of his stuff, got to buy more!

GQ On The EQ++, had that one too but just recently deleted the weak mp3 I had it in, and realized I need to own it. As for Action Packed Mentalist Brings You The Fucking Jams, the premise seems out there but I'm sure Kid606 can and did pull it off.

Never heard any Pretty Girls Make Graves or Resilience, those should be interesting listens.
