Talk of late with knox and ~!@#$ got me thinking the talented SY crew probably know themselves some good food recipes. Care to share?

gmku 12.06.2009 04:48 PM

Or don't.

Fuckers.

knox 12.06.2009 05:46 PM

i got some. what are you looking for?

akprodr 12.06.2009 05:48 PM

Open box, put tray in microwave, punch some buttons, take out and eat.

works for a lot of different dishes

knox 12.06.2009 05:52 PM

I know I sound like a right cunt, but I also detest microwaves. I'm yet to taste something acceptable coming out of one of them. They are just evil and unnecessary.

gmku, i'll help you with a stroganoff meal if you promise to actually cook it.

philistine

Anyways. . .

What do you want to make?

Most oven-top stuff I kind of just throw stuff together. I only really use recipes for baking and desserts.

Sauces you at first need recipes for, until you realize the mechanics of that sauce, then you can sort of do it by feel. Chicken Sate is my favorite to make. :)

Of course! Why would I not cook it?

knox 12.06.2009 07:08 PM

ok, for two, you will need:

about 4 or 5 big potatoes
300 to 400g of sirloin
sour cream
red wine
brandy
dry herbs
black pepper (freshly ground)
salt
tabasco
worcestershire sauce
a small onion
two cloves of garlic
butter
olive oil
fresh salsa

of course not ALL the ingredients are essential.

for the potatoes:
you will peel them and slice them in big chunks, cook them in boiling water, drain the water. when the stroganoff recipe is almost ready, you will use two tablespoons of butter to slighly fry them with some fresh chopped salsa.

for the stroganoff:
you will chop the onions and garlic
slice the beef into strips
season with salt and pepper

heat some olive oil in a pot, add the garlic, then the onion
then add the strips and fry for a bit
just when they are not looking so raw you will pour a glass of red wine, one shot of brandy, and some worcesteshire sauce

put the lid on and let it cook for a bit, but remember to stir

put the temperature down

add dry herbs, more black pepper, even nutmeg if you like, some tabasco

REMEMBER TO STIR A BIT and thats really quick about, 5-8 mins
then you add 2-3 tablespoons of sour cream

the most common mistake people make is adding too much sour cream, making it soupy

it should be ready to serve with the potatoes now

and thats it

its good with red wine, or even beer

atsonicpark 12.06.2009 07:18 PM

semen
spaghetti
parmesan
ragu sauce

EVOLghost 12.06.2009 07:24 PM

I got a recipe for spotted dick. I'll post it later.

did you get that from the eat your own cum recipe book? or is it one of your own?

knox 12.06.2009 07:53 PM

i forgot to say you can add any sort of chopped mushroom into the stroganoff.
and you gotta salt the water in which you boil the potatoes.

gmku 12.07.2009 08:32 AM

Thanks, knox. Sounds good. Think I'll try it this weekend. How much sour cream? 1/2 cup? When I've made stroganoff before, that is the one thing I've had trouble determining. I think I tended to use too much.

For 300g of beef you'll need about 200ml sour cream. You can just add a little at a time until it reaches the right consistency.

I'd also say that mushrooms are pretty essential. I always use a mixture of chestnut and shiitake mushrooms.

And don't forget to wear an apron; don't want to soil that Fred Perry.

I couldn't agree more.

That looks fucking horrible.

im afraid i agree

plus the vegan angle is a major turnoff

and boiling green beans for 45 minutes is gross. green beans should be quickly steamed so they stay crunchy, not turn into sogwad.

i do appreciate the semi-thai impulse behind that soup though but i feel using potatos instead of green beans would yield better results.

and get rid of the eggplant and use tofu instead. or better yet-- pork.

Trust me, it's actually quite amazing. It doesn't look as incredible as it tastes but I've honestly never had a tastier soup. Even my carnivore fiends ask for seconds. If you don't like the eggplant, replace with chicken.
