It was chilling watching the people jump. I found disturbing the guy with the camera, how close he got to that girl.

EMMAh 08.17.2008 09:23 PM

I just find it weird that he didn't do anything sooner, you know? Like I'm all for getting a good picture and all, but...

At least he ended up getting her back over the railing. Maybe she got some help.

✌➬ 08.17.2008 09:24 PM

Yeah, it was weird how they showed her twice, the first time, then a second time.

EMMAh 08.17.2008 09:27 PM

They did? Did she jump the 2nd time?

I don't really remember, I saw this like a year ago. It needs to come on TV so I can watch it again.

What was the one part? The guy who jumped and right after decided he didn't want to die. So he did something weird and like broke his legs or something, and then he was talking about seals saving him?

dionysusundone 08.17.2008 09:29 PM

I watched The Goofy Movie on tv the other day. Ha.

I really want to see Naked Lunch.

viewtiful_alan 08.17.2008 09:34 PM

Is smart people any good?

LifeDistortion 08.17.2008 09:35 PM

Yeah The Bridge is a crazy documentary. Really depressing, but fascinating as well.

He went straight down, and was afloat a seal.

The girl didn't jump off, she was stopped by cops.

How come I just don't understand this seal business :o

That's good the girl didn't jump. It's still fucking sad though :(

They where just keeping him afloat, they never said much more than that.

EMMAh 08.17.2008 10:02 PM

Okay, so I did understand.

Should have slept longer last night or something.

oh ive seen that, it's a good movie! alan parker has made some decent shit-- commercial, but decent! he's kinda ignored these days...

note to self: never smuggle hash in turkey.

EMMAh 08.17.2008 10:28 PM

Hash totally isn't worth the shit he went through.

demonrail666 08.17.2008 10:30 PM

I honestly never walk through customs without thinking about that film. I watched it as a kid and it really freaked me out

Yeah, Alan Parker's an interesting one. Stuff like Fame and Bugsy Malone are great. But he was sort of swept aside, which is weird. He really was pretty good. And I don't think he made any major flops.

EMMAh 08.17.2008 10:32 PM

Funny, I thought about it when I was going through customs too. I had watched it a few months before though.

I got really freaked at customs, had nothing bad at all but I was still super nervous.

i haven't seen some of his stuff (e.g. what you mentioned) but i *did* love the pink floyd movie and the road to wellville which is fucking hilarious, about the budding health quackery industry in the early XXth century, the invention of the cornflake, high voltage dildos, "hysteria curese", and all kinds of funny stuff. great cast too w/ anthony hopkins, john cusack, mathew broderick, and the blonde guy from wayne's world.

the only thing i'll carry though customs is duty-free scotch.

ah, this thread has made me want to watch a good mainstream movie. so i am off to find one!

demonrail666 08.17.2008 10:55 PM

you should definitely watch some of his stuff from the seventies. Fame really is an excellent film that's usually written off because of its subject matter, and that crappy tv series that followed it.
