I like Daydream Nation and Evol, but for some reason I really never got into Sister that much. Oh well. Every sonic youth album is good...just some are better than others, that's all.

Wow, can't believe I wrote this 1 1/2 years ago! It seriously feels like just yesterday.

Best: EVOL, Sister, Daydream Nation

Worst: Dirty, Experimental Jet Set, Washing Machine

best. A Thousand Leaves, NYC Ghosts and Flowers, Murray Street. definatley. (Although EVOL Sister DDN is pretty fucking good)

worst. Goo Dirty ejstans although i love dirty, i really dont like Goo and ejstans doesn't really get me rockin'

it's wonderful to see there's this range of variety amongst sonic youth fans.. it's like different tastes, but in good music overall..

it's not about of worst or best albuns. it's about when my feeling tell me to hear some album. so i don't have that kind of choice.

same, all of the albums bring me to a different place when i listen. that being said, i'm really not a fan of ghosts and flowers.

Pretty much the most obvious response possible from me actually.

Worst:

NYC Ghosts & Flowers - Murray Street - Sonic Nurse (the only one of these that's even close to being a favourite is Murray Street. However, the flip side is that NYCG&F and SN are the only studio albums that I've so much not clicked with that I've never really listened to anywhere enough to feel "set" in my judgments of them. So maybe it'll change with revisits. I have refrained from saying Sonic Nurse - Rather Ripped - The Eternal, because although the only one of those I really love is RR, I simply haven't spent nearly enough time with The Eternal to decide where it sits.)

Best:

EVOL - Sister - Daydream Nation (although, as good as clearly is, I'm not CRAZY about Sister. EVOL and DDN are constantly fighting it out for my all time no.1 ranking though, so...)

I don't think I've disliked any of the albums I've heard as a whole, despite the odd dodgy track. The albums I've heard are:

Daydream Nation
Goo
Dirty
Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star
Washing Machine
A Thousand Leaves
Murray Street

Best: BMR, Evol, Sister
Less Great: Goo, Dirty. Experimental Jet Set. All three of which were redeemed by Washing Machine.

Worst
Goo, Dirty (I quite enjoy EJSTNS and DDN doesn't come close to worst)
