Thank yee oh lord of the links.

Simon Reynolds writes well about other things, Sonic Youth is just not one of them. He stopped liking them just after Daydream Nation, which is a thing I always tend to find strange. Most of this article isn't even about The Eternal or Sonic Youth themselves.

Yeah. . .

The flagrant intellectual masturbation made me want to shoot someone.

The Guardian are pretty much against all my favourite bands. Though, strangely enough, when Alan McGee writes for them they suddenly seem strangely positive about most of them. Hmmmm....

"Have they manage to locate a tune yet?" - angry commenter.

RanaldoNecro 04.08.2009 12:54 PM

That was an informative read

pbradley 04.08.2009 01:11 PM

Blah blah blah nostalgic shit for the first five paragraphs.

And the comments are a bunch of cack. Using Sonic Youth's artist homages as a means to dismiss the tunes themselves in order to hide their aging ears. Just like the British to construe authenticity with class expectations.

static-harmony 04.08.2009 01:23 PM

I got too boring to read.

I have, what I read was largely him sucking off Bobby Gillespie.
