No Age

can anybody tell me if they are worth buying the album?
Ive checked a video on their myspace site and that rocked. but some tunes there suck a little bit.
anybody....ah tell me what you think, I am too lazy right now
thx

pbradley 08.05.2008 01:55 PM

What video have you seen? Because I haven't heard one song that I found appealing from them.

schizophrenicroom 08.05.2008 01:56 PM

nouns is a great album.

SYRFox 08.05.2008 02:03 PM

Nouns is a great album, and so is Weirdo Rippers. They're really a good band. I'm seeing them on sunday actually, at the Nuits Secrètes festival. HEALTH will be there too

wellcharge 08.05.2008 02:03 PM

i pretty much only listen to no age

Sonic Youth 37 08.05.2008 02:05 PM

I've been meaning to pick up Nouns for ages now. Adding it to my "to-get" list right now

batreleaser 08.05.2008 02:31 PM

i would buy wierdo rippers but not nouns. theyre a good band, but nothing special. great anthemic power pop punk songs with occasional dreamy shoegaze-esque guitar feedback. i only listened to nouns three times before getting bored with it.

al shabbray 08.05.2008 02:43 PM

that video on their myspace page, right above that "no age-weirdo rippers" entry pic.
I somehow liked it calm/loud attitude.
no big deal, but the overall presentation with the video appealed to me somehow

al shabbray 08.05.2008 02:50 PM

the song os "boy void" and I am feeling like I could bomb away my appartment with that as a soundtrack...listening to the amazon snippets right now and thinkin bout ordering

sarramkrop 08.05.2008 02:53 PM

Aren't they mates with Abe Vigoda or something like that? Abe Vigoda I really like, No Age have a couple of very good songs and the rest I can't be really be too bothered with much.

I have ''Skeleton'' and enjoy it, even though I would have prefered for it to be a bit longer. I can up a live of theirs that is pretty good too, if you want it.

davenotdead 08.05.2008 03:02 PM

skeleton is a great album... as for no age... their energy is pretty addicting... the albums are growers too. i think i prefer weirdo rippers

al shabbray 08.05.2008 03:03 PM

that would be awesome!!! seems they are kinda predestined to play live!
"boy void" really got me now, seems that only that track would be worth a purchase, even if its under 1:30 mins. but somehow it got an impact to me like "date with a night" a few years ago, but karen o is more lovely of course

sarramkrop 08.05.2008 03:34 PM

Ok, I'm uploading other stuff at the moment. I promise that I will put it up at one point.

that would be nice, pm me then!

viewtiful_alan 08.05.2008 04:01 PM

Nouns was great.
But reviewers wrote about them like they were this abbrasive noise band and they really aren't...

al shabbray 08.05.2008 04:03 PM

yeah I was thinkin that too, after reading some reviews about them, because of that I was interested and didnt really imagined they sound like what Ive listened to so far

viewtiful_alan 08.05.2008 04:06 PM

Yeah the first time I listened to Nouns I was dissapointed because it wasn't what I thought it would be.
but the second listen was alot better because I realized it was a good album on its own right.
Great packaging to.

Everyneurotic 08.05.2008 04:08 PM

i like them, good pop rocking band.

they got the los angeles smell connection going on.

Pax Americana 08.05.2008 08:20 PM

I like No Age, they're catchy as hell.

atsonicpark 08.05.2008 08:21 PM

Catchy as dogshit.

✌➬ 08.06.2008 02:20 AM

They are ok, only heard them once. Should listen to them again.

Rob Instigator 08.06.2008 09:01 AM

I love NOUNS. I have been rocking it like a motherfucker. sometimes you can fine it on white vinyl.

al shabbray 08.06.2008 09:06 AM

I am infected right now. think I will order both albums the next days I got some money left.

atsonicpark 08.06.2008 01:14 PM

Too bad they're bad songwriters, eh?

Bollocks_to_Pop 08.06.2008 02:54 PM

I saw them about a week ago in SF and they played an awesome with Abe Vigoda. Lots of energy and the two guys are really nice. I talked to guitarist a little bit after the show. I haven't fully listened to Wierdo Rippers but I have Nouns and I think it's pretty good.

it's only one track each, but you should buy it since it's only 1000 copies and they're all unique, the non tour version just came out less than a month ago and will probably be gone in no time

Yeah I picked that up when I saw No Age. Haven't gotten a chance to listen to it yet though. Does anyone possibly have a digital version of it?

sarramkrop 08.25.2008 06:22 AM

Seeing them next week, always great live

SonikJesus 06.13.2013 03:56 AM

wow that new one kills. its perfect.

SonicBebs 07.04.2013 10:20 AM

any idea when the album is coming out?

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 07.04.2013 02:25 PM

I know I've seen the band opening somewhere but I can't for the life of me think of where..

Severian 07.13.2013 11:50 AM

I didn't know about a new album, but this thread has put me back into a No Age headspace. I'm listening to Everything in Between, which I've always considered extremely sad, and surprisingly so, given the no frills nature of their previous releases. EIB has some frills, but it almost reminds me of "Flip Your Wig" era Husker Du. Yeah, it's less minimalist, but it's textured in just the right way to hint at a promisingly spacey progression in sound. Looking forward to this one.

TheMadcapLaughs 07.16.2013 01:17 PM

heres a new track. i like it, its calming...
