mmmmm, nice can't wait to read this.

Trasher02 02.06.2007 10:43 AM

The non-red one.

I'm colourblind...

finding nobody 02.06.2007 10:52 AM

November. I also am looking forward to opening this up

noumenal 02.06.2007 10:57 AM

Has anyone read any of the other books from the 33 1/3 series? What are they like? I'm a bit worried that it won't be my kind of music writing, but I'm defintely getting it.

I vote for November.

Jef Mertens 02.06.2007 11:02 AM

November!!! definitely. Gives it that golden touch...

Inhuman 02.06.2007 11:23 AM

Hey echocanyon!
I'm a design student, and I'd definately go with November! The color scheme is more consistant and flows nicer with the daydream nation cover. It also provides a better contrast with the black text on the back. Red is also the most difficult color for your brain to comprehend.

Very nice design overall, I'm impressed. I can't wait to read it.

HaydenAsche 02.06.2007 01:26 PM

Non-red.

kingcoffee 02.06.2007 01:48 PM

I too prefer the gold cover. The red doesnt look right for the album. I dont think of red when I think of DDN.

jennthebenn 02.06.2007 02:22 PM

my favorite sy poster is a ddn promo tour poster
with the dates next to the original drifter,
drumstick jammed in the strings proudly, all
against a red backdrop. given that, and the
predominance of red in the cd packaging, i
can't help but connect red with the album.

jon boy 02.06.2007 02:28 PM

to be honest i like both.

the ikara cult 02.06.2007 02:35 PM

I like the brown one, kind of a sepiatone effect, suits the albums sound if you see what i mean

hey alex 02.06.2007 03:21 PM

I kinda like the red, but the november one is better match, the red is a cool clash,

I've read the beatles' let it be one in the series, which was cool. But VVEERRYY dry. It was mostly about them in the studio and what guitars they used, which I found intresting, but is a rather pigeon holing approach .I'm aware. It really depends on who writes the book and their connection with album, such as the replacments' let it be was written by collin meloy and is more personally oriented to his feelings about the album and not so much about the album creation (or so I've heard). This one could be intresting i bet. I mean, it si DDN. (post monger!)

guston 02.06.2007 09:02 PM

While I may be in the minority...I say red. I think the red provides a nice contrast with daydream nation cover. Def. the red.

I'm really excited about this book. THe 33 1/3 series is really great. This should be a good mini read.

dazedcola 02.06.2007 10:32 PM

holy shit, check this out:

First, look closely! Located beneath the 33.3 logo and album cover shot, in fine print, you'll notice an announcement indicating that the volume comes fully loaded with a foreword from Lee Ranaldo. I'm totally thrilled to include his piece in this project. Lee strikes just the right tone, properly setting the mood for the rest of the book. If his foreword isn't incentive enough for you to preorder multiple copies, then maybe this will help: If you order now, I promise to inscribe each copy with a personalized, secret author's message

finding nobody 02.06.2007 10:56 PM

Here's a page with a cool exerpt

CHOUT 02.06.2007 11:06 PM

I like the red one.

Chris Lawrence 02.07.2007 12:24 AM

red, no contest. how can you not associate 'red' w/ daydream, the spine of the CD? (to be fair, the LP is a greenish spine, but that's not an option here...)

krastian 02.07.2007 01:02 AM

I like the red as well for obvious reasons stated....plus it catches the eye better than the November.

Moshe 02.07.2007 01:52 AM

Red for me.
