Is anyone here into neo-soul?
 

Lately if I'm not listening to My Bloody Valentine, it's D'Angelo or Erykah Badu.
Ironically all three of those need to release an album sooner than later, but still. I know some of this board is into hip-hop, so it seems only logical that perhaps some would be into neo-soul.

Hmm sort of. I always thought this was the ground Gnarls Barkley were bridging into with their first album. I'm totally inexperienced with this thing though, I've heard Erykah Badu before and she's pretty okay- if we can bring classic soul singing back to replace that horrible whiny melismatic Mariah Carey style shit thats been dominating black music for about 20 years then I'll be happy.

i like erykah badu, i want to see her live but tickets for her shows are always way too expensive

Her last album is amazing. really freaky in parts with the Egyptian mythological references and little character-voicings on the title track. the sequel should be out later this year.
