Things that burn!

With a bit of an influence from the headache thread, heres the question: Have you ever been seriously burned, and how?

Most of my burns came from being a dumbass, like lighting my shoe on fire with fire crackers, boiling water with no shirt on, puting my hand on a burner forgetting it was hot. Torching my hand with melted liquid sugar (leaving a huge friggen blister the size of a golf ball). Burning my hand grabbing a log from a fire. Puting my hand on a fire stove(those gas stoves with the open sides). Any way, Im a dumbass burning the hell out of my hands.

Whats your story?

I've never been scarred by burns. I got burnt by a coal from a hookah while in the back of a van that was moving last week.

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 07.20.2006 04:12 PM

by hookah do you mean hooker?

Savage Clone 07.20.2006 04:13 PM

I spilled boiling water on my leg last year, just above the knee. I was wearing long underwear and when I took them down to see the extent of the damage all the skin peeled off. An oval-shaped area about 4 inches by 3 inches, totally raw and exposed, full-on 2nd degree style. I could not walk for a week. Changing the dressings was incredibly painful, yet I was able to take care of it myself and have no scarring. I credit Mrs. Clone's remarkable knowledge of herbal remedies.

No. By hookah I meant hookah.

once i was at a freinds house and we covered a pizza box is lighter fluid and started burning it. then everything went crazy and we started rolling in it.
then we found boat gas. we filled a bottle up with it and threw it in there. the fire burned a little hole in the bottle and the gas started shooting out and landed on the house, so we started beeting on it to put it out.. and it went out
But then! this dumbass named Joey started beating the gas filled bottle with a metal pole.
the burning gas shot on his head and we had to put him out. he got his hair burned a bit and his ear. all this happend in December when it was raining out
crazy buisness

When I worked in a kitchen: Ceramic plates right out of the steam-dryer, and oil from the deep frier. Only a drop on my finger, but holy shit...

One time I was melting plastic bags (if you've never done this it is quite enjoyable. When the bags catch fire they drip little balls of flame while making a buzzing noise) and one of the fireballs landed on my finger. It just created a blister and a scar which is still visible.

the only scar i have is on my pointer finger, i was being a pyro and burning stuff and burnt a cd. the cd just melts and then dripped onto my finger.

golden child 07.20.2006 05:10 PM

woah me and nomadic posted basically the same stories at the same time.

nomadicfollower 07.20.2006 05:12 PM

Weird.

I was burned with the end of a cigarette once. That kinda hurt.

Tokolosh 07.20.2006 05:29 PM

I got burnt once getting on a motorbike. My ankle touched the exhaust pipe and I heard it sizzle.

Had that happen to a friend recently. Needless to say, the burn looked pretty painful.

Tokolosh 07.20.2006 05:33 PM

yeh, and it left a scar.

Hambbbbuuurrrrrggggggggerrrrrr laddddddddddy.

No, I have not been seriously burned, but I work with burn patients a lot, and it is not something you want to have happen to you. Extreme pain and discomfort.

The worst burn I've ever had was probably while heating a stone in my art class, I figured it had cooled off after a moment and went to move it with index finger, and SIZZLE. It hurt, BAD. It blistered in seconds.

EMMAh 07.20.2006 06:19 PM

I always burn myself.
On the oven, the medal part of the lighter, lighting the pipe, I always burn myself with my smokes.
Nothing on purpose ad nothing serious.

EDIT: I was actually going to list things that burn hahahah. Pretty much everything burns.

golden child 07.20.2006 09:04 PM

the first time i had weed i burned my finger pretty bad trying to light the pipe but forgetting to suck in.
