Five days to go...

And the weather forecast for Minehead is....

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Continuing unsettled with showers on Wednesday. A further spell of heavy rain on Thursday followed by a return to brighter showery conditions by Friday. Windy with coastal gales.

Updated: 0313 on Mon 4 Dec 2006

UK Outlook for Saturday 9 Dec 2006 to Monday 18 Dec 2006:
The unsettled spell of weather looks set to continue throughout this forecast period. Spells of rain, often heavy and accompanied by strong winds, will be interspersed with brighter, showery conditions. There is a continued risk of severe gales in some exposed areas, especially in the west. The continued bouts of rain may also pose problems. Temperatures will often be near normal or mild but with one or two slightly colder spells. One such spell is likely at the start of the period, with night frost for some areas and wintry showers over hills. However milder weather with rain and strong winds is expected to return later next weekend and continue at times through the following week.

Do we care? Do we fuck!! I shall take a kite.

jon boy 12.04.2006 07:08 AM

its gonna be fun. is there going to be some kind of board meetup?

sonicl 12.04.2006 07:12 AM

There's nothing formal been arranged, so far as I know, but there are plenty of boardies who are rooming with or know boardies who are rooming with or know other boardies, etc, etc, so I'm sure that if we all want to meet up, we will.

I'm rooming with Greenlight, and chauffering Moshe.

jon boy 12.04.2006 07:16 AM

we will see what can be done.

o o o 12.04.2006 08:21 AM

i realise that weatherforecasts are not the easiest thing to read in a foreign language.

so... it will be windy, and sometimes it will rain, sometimes it will not?

sonicl 12.04.2006 08:30 AM

It will be windy and rainy, but probably not very cold. Standard British weather for December - and for much of the rest of the year.

Iain 12.04.2006 08:31 AM

Yes, pretty much. Which is pretty much an accurate weather forecast for the UK from October through to about January when it might actually get a bit cold and icy...or just continue to rain perhaps.

Iain 12.04.2006 08:32 AM

Ah, beat me to it. It's pretty mild over here for the time of year. I'd put my neck out and say that you won't need a massive coat or anything. It's above 10C at the moment.

sonicl 12.04.2006 08:36 AM

I didn't want to risk saying "you won't need a coat" in case there is a cold wind coming off the Bristol Channel. We could do with some input from Glice at this point, seeing as he's our on-the-spot reporter.

Glice 12.04.2006 08:40 AM

Oh, responsibility.

I'd take a coat. It's quite fair in the day, but it'll get nippy after hours (bearing in mind the gigs go on quite late). I'd say take a jacket, and if you don't need it you can always leave in in your chalet.

*Oh, you should also remember it's a coastal town. The winds on the coast are a lot worse than they are around, say, Birmingham.

Iain 12.04.2006 08:41 AM

Well, I'm not saying you won't need a coat...just that you won't need a massive artic conditions type jacket and 6 scarves.

Inhuman 12.04.2006 09:11 AM

I really wish I could go, but it's too expensive. I finish the school semester in two days, and I'll be posting a lot more, but it just so happens that boardies will be leaving to ATP, so I'll have to find a REAL social life, although I'm really not up for it.

RdTv 12.04.2006 09:12 AM

I'm glad you are all gonna be able to make it to the festival, I'm drunk with envy.

I was talking to one of the guys in Hair Police and amongst other things we touched on ATP and he appeared quite excited to be in the line-up with a lot of other great bands and looking forward to the experience of being there. I thought it was cool of him to be so honest and not throw out the 'ya its just a gig' vibe that some other people I've met posses.

o o o 12.06.2006 09:34 AM

10°C sounds indeed mild to me. oh and i think i got the drift of what you are saying: i will get a coat. in fact, i might bring two different coats.

i just discovered today that i have a cold, which is bad news, but it looks as if it is nothing too serious: i still hope to get rid of it before Friday.

sonicl 12.06.2006 09:52 AM

Nasty cold? You'll be needing this thread then: how to cure a cold?
