Pow R toc H has a lot of vocals! All these chicken screams..... :p

But I think Careful with that axe Eugene is the best PF instrumental ever. 2nd would be Atom Heart Mother

in addition to doing a spot-on cover of Interstellar Overdrive (much better than any other band), Camper Van Beethoven have many other original instrumentals that are really fine.

Border Ska, Yanqui Go Home, 9 of Disks, Payed Vacation: Greece, Vladivostock, Skinhead Stomp, Mao Reminisces About His Days in Southern China, Balalaika Gap, Abundance, Turtlehead, 073003000, S.P. 37597, Cattle (Reversed), Eye Of Fatima (Pt. 2), L'Aguardiente, No Flies On Us, No Krugerrands For David, R'n'R Uzbekistan, The Fool, The Perfect Enigma Machine, The Poppies Of Balmorhea, Waka, ZZ Top Goes To Egypt

SYRs, Peter Gabriel's Passion, My Life in the Bush of Ghosts really doesn't have lyrics really, there's some rather soothing ones on the Twin Peaks soundtrack,
& there's so many Zappa instrumentals that I'll just mention Son of Mr. Green Genes from Hot Rats...

any of Mogwai's instrumentals (which is most of their stuff).

TheDom 05.20.2006 09:12 PM

You can't beat the jams Hendrix did.

That reminds me, their cover of Sickles & Hammers is much better than the Minutemen's.

I know there are more instrumentals out there, but my mind is drawing a blank.

acousticrock87 05.20.2006 09:50 PM

I just listened to SYR 6 #3 twice, and it was pretty damn good.
