Albums you've owned for some time, but have never listened to

Do you have these? or is this completely pointless?

There's a few I have that have left without a listen.

Budgie - Squeak
Dream syndicate - some LP
I was a teenage satan worshipper - some cd

For a two years or so I had a bunch of 7"s that featured bands called minch, cadaver feast and mamaracho (or something). When I finally listened to them, I realized why the previous owner gave them to me for free.

i have some stuff that hasn't been listened, but it's stuff that came in the mail in the past couple of weeks.

someone gave me hole's celebrity skin and one of kid rock's albums (ED: i just realized that the one i have is not really kid rock's first album, it's not the one where he was trying to be vanilla ice) and i haven't listened them, i like some songs i've heard on celeb skin but never really been inclined to listen to it in full.

i bought a bunch of 1.50 shit at amoeba records last year and apart from kinetic stereokids, i haven't listened to a single one of the 40+ cds i bought.

the lesson of this is that i'm stupid.

GravitySlips 03.16.2008 06:01 PM

I bought a Kitchens of Distiction album ages ago, but I've still to listen to it (or that band in general). Hey, it was £2...any fans here?

I'll listen to it soon.

atsonicpark 03.16.2008 06:02 PM

scrawl - nature film

schizophrenicroom 03.16.2008 06:17 PM

scrawl as in the metal-y band or the really poppy band scrawl?

atsonicpark 03.16.2008 06:29 PM

poppy.

not the excellent le scrawl either.

Yes, I love "Love is hell".

gualbert 03.16.2008 06:38 PM

I've bought 20 7" on Beer City Records , years ago . I have listened to some of them but I don't remember which one ( except 4th class and Humpy which are very good ) , and now I'm too lazy to play vinyl.

StevOK 03.16.2008 06:38 PM

I download stuff without listening to it all the time. One day...one day I will have listened to it all.

This Is Not Here 03.16.2008 07:56 PM

I constantly buy albums because I find them cheap in bargain bins in charity shops/record stores, not because I particularly want them. For instance the other week I bought a Lou Reed cassette for 50p/$1 from an Age Concern charity shop. When I got home I realised I've already got Lou Reed albums coming out my fundement and I didn't really want it and will proably never listen to it! My life's a sham.

uhler 03.16.2008 08:11 PM

i have some records that i bought but never listened to, but that's because they're already on my computer.

here's a few records i never listened to, not because i don't like but because of the reason above:
a this bike is a pipebomb 7 inch, a few older against me! 7 inches and records, twelve hour turn/engine down split 7 inch, the swarm-old blue eyes is dead (i used to have another copy which was overplayed many years ago, but a flood in my house destroyed it), reversal of man-revolution summer (same as the swarm), avail- satite (sp?), a few discount 7 inches, hot water music/clairmel split, scrog-discrography, and a new idea society cd that i bought but never opened. i only bought it because i was (and still am still an extent) a huge stephen brodsky fan.

i bought syr 3 when i was nyc on vinyl but i still haven't opened it. same with the cold cold hearts 7 inch i bought, but i have that on cd.

atsonicpark 03.16.2008 08:14 PM

uhler!

I really like this bike is a pipebomb, I hate against me! though the older stuff isn't TOO awful, the twelve hour turn/engine down split is pretty cool; I like the twelve hour turn side more, the swarm - old blue eyes is dead was my jam in high school, reversal of man-revolution summer is an underrated classic, never heard avail, hot water music/clairmel split is alright; i actually have almost everything hot water music has ever done and I'm sure why since the only one I LOVE is "fuel for the hate game", scrog - discrography, is pretty inconsisternt and I never heard new idea society.

Some good stuff in there. Do you like the Honor System? 100% Synthetic is one of my all time favorite EP's..

Sonic Youth 37 03.16.2008 08:36 PM

Ride-Nowhere. I very rarely buy things and don't listen to them anymore.

the new against me! album isn't bad for being a straight foward rock record. maybe, i'm just biased and it is awful. yeah, i like engine down, but twelve hour turn were and still is my jam. florida represent! not really. scog mostly suck but they have a history in the early tampa scene so that why i have the cd. i used to have their 7 inches. like i mentioned before, hot water music were one of my favorite bands in high school, they suck now, but their old stuff is great. do you have the tomorrow split? reversal of man was one of my favorite bands in high school too.

i did like the honor system. i saw them live with small brown bike and grade (grade sucked bad) a long time ago.

That's a very good album imo.

Death & the Maiden 03.17.2008 02:40 AM

Ian Brown - The Greatest
I bought it because it was cheap and I liked The Stone Roses.
