Loose Fur

Has there been a tonne of posts about how fucking brilliant Born Again in the USA is that iv sadly missed? or is there a distinct lack of praise for it on this here board?

I really think its one of the best records iv heard in years. its got everything...apart from length  fucking astounding man

If you havent heard this yet, either because you're too lazy or you didnt like the 1st record...(its the polar opposite of 'loose fur') ....

YOU MUST HEAR THIS ALBUM

There have been one or two threads, but I agree, not as much as it deserves. It is a stellar album. Haydenasche or whatever his name is was talking about it recently.

I've done my best to praise it as well. It's different than the first one and gets better and better the more you play it.

i didnt think it was that great. it had its moments though.

tramp-arse 04.06.2006 05:44 PM

Has anyone got links to some decent interviews?

HaydenAsche 04.06.2006 05:47 PM

I like it alot.

I agree that the new loose fur has slipped through the cracks. The song writing is stronger on this album verses the first one. I think it is more accessible. I am looking forward to see what comes out of Wilco next and from Mr. Orourke.

I dig it. It doesn't really have any stand-out tracks like "Chinese Apple" (off the first album) but it's pretty damn solid. Jim's really developed into a very clever and funny lyricist, and of course his production is great as usual.

Check out the hysterical video for "Hey Chicken" - http://www.youtube.com/?v=91pz6ZYrQcc

I didn't care for the whistling on the second track.

Personaly, I thought "the serpentine similar" was a much tighter album

Got this quite recently and was rather underwhelmed after the first spin... however, like so many records Jim is associated with, it takes several listens before the record begins to reveal itself... truly a brilliant album, maybe even better than the last Loose Fur effort (which was incredible as well)... it feels more concise and focussed whereas the last one was more jam-ey for want of a better term...

Moshe 04.28.2006 05:34 AM

I think it is good but not as good as the first one.

segerandpriest 04.30.2006 04:18 PM

i think it is mostly great with a few horrible spots. some of the more piano-driven shite almost sounds like phish.

but all in all it's amazing. tweedy's riffing is very big star-ish.

nomadicfollower 04.30.2006 05:43 PM

Haven't heard it, but it's up on spacelessjam and I might get it soon.
