most modern shoegaze bands are variations of the mbv or slowdive sound
the real cool stuff though imho are the bands which incorporate those dreamy soundscapes into heavier music, creating 'blackgaze' and 'post-metal' it's something very recent that's happened in the music scene, starting w/ bands like Deftones, Isis, Russian Circles, Alcest, Deafheaven,Bosse-de-Nage, etc. Seriously, Mr. Symbols... I would die to hear your thoughts on Rolo Tomassi's Time Will Die and Love Will Bury It  By far my album of the year and I implore you to give it a listen Spotify should have it, if that's your fix, but it's also on the Youtubez.  |
