This year looks sonically quite poor, no information will R`N`R Consciusness come in april, Lee´s Electric Trim´s postponet in may (not sure will it also coming ever), no information will Lee´s "In Doubt Shadow him" ever come. Nothing from Kim. No information from new SY archival records. Only some Thurston´s old recording coming from the shit label for sure.

To me it seems SY is really dead now and this world seems not need it´s music, it seems to love that dead plastic shit I hear everyday. This place is also really boring.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play...

Right...what's so bad about Feeding Tube Records?

I love me some Feeding Tube Records! Their live/archival Mars LPs are classy and badass and bitchen! Also, I got a collection of covers of Syd Barrett's The Madcap Laughs from their store via Discogs and they were ultranice. By the way, unless they have someone else working there with the initials "B.C.", I guess it was Byron Coley himself who handled that transaction. Nice I tell ya!

halgreen 01.19.2017 08:19 PM

I agree...great releases. The idea of two LPs of thurston with the founder of the Velvet underground appreciation society actually excites me...

At least they don´t seem to know how to serve customers...just impolitely want me more money even they fucked up my order. I am not going to buy anything from them.

I understand your annoyance, but you might want to give them a **little** room, people who put out music like this probably aren't corporate customer service experts. If they were mailing something to you out of the US postage can be very complicated (and unpredictably expensive). You can probably get most of their stuff through fusetron.

halgreen 01.21.2017 10:47 AM

It's also partially run by Byron coley. Punk rock og

Look, I have ordered albums all around the world and also from small labels, for example Drag City, Hydra Head Records, Burger records, Thrill Jockey. Also I have ordered lot from discogs, from record shops and from individuals. There has been only one dickhead in discogs, with all the others I haven´t got any problems. All other US small labels I have ordered have just done a great job. I understand there can be problems, but you don´t have to be rude if there are ones. They make me feel like I am junkie who is buying from the pusher his drug. I don´t care whatever art they will release, because I can have great stuff from the people who do their job properly.

I think this thread should not be entitled 'Sonic Youth 2017.' It is not -Sonic Youth-! It is mostly all of the (former? (grr. . . let us hope not!)) member's individual endeavors. I do not have the time or money to collect everything all of the band members do. I love all of them and used to try — books, limited releases, etc. — but it was all too exhausting.

I come to to this thread in hopes of finding Sonic Youth information, but is at times difficult to skim through what is actually Sonic Youth. It is just an opinion that they could/should be separated —— throw tomatoes and grab the hooked cane . . . now!

This thread isn't called Sonic Youth 2017 it's Sonic 2017. It will include new releases/reissues from individual members and/or the band just as it always has done...

To make it easier for you though I shall try my best to keep the first post on this page updated so you will only need to check that for info on Sonic Youth.

Thanks for the reply, Stu. I did not mean to sound ungrateful and certainly did not want to create more work for anyone; you do a lot for us Sonic fans! I honestly wish I had the funds and time to pursue all that they do. . .

They haven't been sent out yet... I think Fag Tapes is based in Michigan

NickSoulsby 02.14.2017 04:22 AM

Spoke to the guy who runs Fag Tapes just over a week ago - he told me they were going to be sent by the middle of the month (packaging delivery had been holding them back.)

Same here! Looking forward to seeing how my recording sounds on the tape and what the cd is like...

Do you guys think it will help to use sick ass spells to try to get a SY reunion? I don't even believe in magick that much but it's worth it.

Anyways i'm pretty hyped för Lee's shit. He's always been my fav member, so it's cool that he's still out there, playing a shit load of shows and recording LPS

Interesting. I remember that, asked about them many moons ago, Lee said, "They're OK...", which didn't exactly seem like much of a praise. Maybe Chris Lawrence can help us find that interview — we still should be able to read it if the URL http://sonicyouth.com/dotsonics/lee/index.html didn't mercilessly redirect us to http://www.sonicyouth.com/symu/lee/ ;)
