'20 Years of Sonic Youth' documentary on Youtube
 

This may have been available elsewhere, or many of you may have already been aware of it, but relatively recently a Sonic Youth hour-long documentary from 2002 entitled 20 Years of Sonic Youth was made available in six parts on youtube.

Yeah, good doc. Youtube has a lot of good things like that; too bad youtube deletes pretty much every good thing that people posts for whatever reason. Give it time.

It says it was a German produced documentary, did it not air in the UK or US then?

It DID air in the US, because I watched it. It was 2002 I believe, and proably on IFC. I don't THINK it was German produced, but I know it was only released (on DVD) in Japan.

It's nicely put together and a document of probably my favourite era of Sonic Youth. The live version of ghost's and flowers is simply amazing. It does consist too heavily of music videos I've seen before, though.

Yes the version of "NYC Ghosts" on that documentary is staggering. Best version I've ever heard.

Is there anybody out there that can tell me where to find the 20 years of Sonic Doc? As it seem to be elusive....Doh!
