ladies and gentlemen was a classic album tho i prefer electric mainline....... lookin g forward to more jesus songs and good dope................

Savage Clone 02.22.2008 05:14 PM

I have been severely disappointed with every album after Ladies and Gentlemen. Too saccharine, too overproduced. I love the first three records and their respective singles, and during that time I'm pretty convinced they were the best live band on earth, but I am totally "meh" on the prospect of a new album. It's a shame; there was a time when the new Spiritualized album coming out would be big news for me, but they haven't been at the top of their game for quite a few years now. Three unfuckwithable LPs is impressive no matter what, though.

I also think Fucked Up Inside >>>>>>to the nth degree over Royal Albert as far as live Spiritualized albums go...

Everyneurotic 02.23.2008 12:50 AM

one of my all time favorite songs ever is "stop your crying", "ladies and gentlemen..." the song is also up there...whenever i go on a trip i always take ladies and gentlemen... with me. "anyway that you want me" has got to be one of my favorite covers ever (i'm thinking of covering it if my shoegazer/glam rock band takes off), "electric mainline", the r.a.h. version of "medication"...so many great songs!

Hey, has anyone checked out A&E, I've been listening to it a lot recently and there are some really great moments on it. I hate it when people say this, but it's definitely a grower.

Everyneurotic 04.17.2008 11:55 PM

i love a&e! love it to bits, i'm very into it.

batreleaser 04.18.2008 12:08 AM

when did you start the shoegazer glam band neurotic?

and i am getting very giddy for some new tunes from mr pierce.

Everyneurotic 04.18.2008 12:35 AM

it's actually a half joke/half plan i have with my friend; i'm playing guitar, she's playing bass and keyboards and we'll have a drum machine. we have just talked about it, nothing concrete yet but i have been thinking about writing bits and emailing them to her so she can work on her parts and also thought about some covers and perhaps a few drone instrumentals.

batreleaser 04.18.2008 12:46 AM

yeah, i actually just started a new band with an old friend who recently re-connected with. actually just last weekend. we havnt done anything past jamming yet but we wanna do something like a noisey mathy dance garage punk band with two guitars, keyboard, synthesizr, and drum machine. influences include shellac, slint, meltbanana, gang of 4, curtis mayfield, funkadelic, devo, beefheart, mc5, the pop group, autechre, squarepusher, and pil.

not sure how far its gonna go cuz im going home in three weeks and me and my brother are gonna get that band going.

PAULYBEE2656 04.18.2008 05:42 AM

songs in a & e is excellent.... loving it
