Satan 10.22.2009 07:29 PM

love led zep.

Toilet & Bowels 10.22.2009 07:53 PM

a bit

canabero 10.22.2009 07:54 PM

i love led zeppelin one of my 10 favourite bands. I prefer hear classic rock instead of that shity indie bands like Pixies, i've never considered SY as a indie band.

Jeremy 10.22.2009 08:19 PM

In a short answer, not really, they're not really my thing. On the other hand, I think they themselves are fantastic musicians (Who can deny Page's guitar?) and I respect what they did for music.

So I'm middle of the line, but granted I rarely listen to them, that's more my dad and brothers.

~Jeremy~

dionysusundone 10.22.2009 08:52 PM

gross, no

Death & the Maiden 10.22.2009 09:14 PM

I've been listening to Led Zeppelin a bit lately. I've only got I, IV, and Remasters, so I plan to get some of the others.

SuperCreep 10.22.2009 10:02 PM

I went with yes, even though I have zero desire to ever listen to them after burning them out in my teenage years. Still, a lot of really great stuff, especially III and HotH.

pbradley 10.22.2009 11:34 PM

I voted but I'm not going to repeat my vote as a comment.

alteredcourse 10.22.2009 11:47 PM

Most interesting post yet, pbrads. Youre hillarious, love you.

I cant not love led zep, I grew up with them. Theres nothing like leaning back on a rolly-stool in my brothers garage while he invents some kinda pully-thing or welds some shit or pulls some wrenches on his bike while a lost live track of led zep belts out of late nite oldies radio. His dog sits beside me and I scratch his ears and under his collar. Songs like Since I've Been Lovin' You and their other bluesy (read it as rip-off-bluesy if its suits ya) stuff, or Bron y Aur Stomp and other shakers are good for those times.

Usually when in heavy reminisce mode, it's good to put on Thats the Way or The Rain Song, stuff like that. They've got a nice mix though, honestly.

This

atsonicpark 10.23.2009 01:04 AM

Now, don't get me wrong, they're a talented band, really think Jimmy Page is one of the greats (though the best thing he ever did was the unreleased Lucifer Rising soundtrack).. but their music is ... well.

Carry on.

alteredcourse 10.23.2009 01:08 AM

Oh fucking hell! You get me all worked up just so you can shuffle your feet and walk off. You drive me nuts.

i'm listening to them right now

they're just a great rock and roll band. that's it. it doesn't need to be fucking baudelaire. write what you know etc.

alteredcourse 10.23.2009 01:13 AM

I've always loved the intro to "your time is gonna come" its so smack-lipped sweet. Like your own shit in a bitches face that cuts you off in a queue, to put it politely.

so easy to belt to, too.

Whoa, thanks for that. This is just Jimmy Page solo, though, who I already said is quite awesome.

But yeah this is Fahey as FUCK! Open C tuning and all!

SonikJesus 10.23.2009 01:20 AM

i've had IV for years but never really got into it. I do have respect for them though. This might be one of those times where I go and actually try to listen to an album I've had for years but never got it and actually finally get it.

That sentence was awesome.

Silent Dan Speaks 10.23.2009 02:42 AM

I blame lots of Led Zeppelin in my youth for making we want to play guitar solos now. I remember the first time I heard Black Dog. Blew my fucking young mind.

FreshChops 10.23.2009 02:57 AM

.... in moderation

atsonicpark 10.23.2009 03:24 AM

Just listened to Immigrant Song for the first time.

Amazing track!!!!! Holy shit.

FreshChops 10.23.2009 03:40 AM

Ramble On, on of the sweetest bass lines in rock history

Genteel Death 10.23.2009 04:00 AM

I like some songs on Presence, not much else. They bore me.

Dead-Air 10.23.2009 04:30 AM

Absolutely love I and III. The odd track here and there otherwise at the right time works.

Listening to that song while playing Warcraft II is the locus of epic.

atsonicpark 10.23.2009 04:47 AM

I can't believe how groovy it is. Fuck yeah. Think I'll download a couple albums. Listened to a few more non-Stairway and non-Black Dog songs on youtube and changed my vote.

Glice 10.23.2009 04:49 AM

Another one of those bands I've tried and tried until I cried and cried. I think, short of taking a bath in man-paste, I really can't think of a more homo-erotic experience than listening to Cock Zeppelin.

pbradley 10.23.2009 04:53 AM

Man-paste bath while listening to Led Zeppenis.

notyourfiend 10.23.2009 07:51 AM

Right after I turned 18 I tripped on shrooms in Central Park with my friend who was 15. She was an idiot and decided to snort a few lines of coke and smoke some PCP before we even got started. Then, some hippies in the park offered us acid and she took some taps without thinking twice. Needless to say, she was way too young and immature to handle her shit and wound up having a really terrifying trip and the only thing that would calm her down was to listen to Led Zeppelin on repeat on my stereo all fucking night. We only had access to one of their albums (some greatest hits collection that my mom owned) so yeah...ever since then i haven't been able to stand the Zep.

Bal 10.23.2009 07:57 AM

yes. theyre great. (not superb tho!)

SONIC GAIL 10.23.2009 08:17 AM

THey are the bestand i love love love them

tesla69 10.23.2009 08:25 AM

Find some early live shows before they started playing Stairway to Heaven, they were some great heavy blues rock.
