The simpsons: season 2.
So fucking good

Derek 08.20.2010 10:37 AM

Seasons 4, 5 and 6 are my favourites.

!@#$%! 08.20.2010 12:55 PM

funny shit. of course it was cancelled. i don't know if the writing went downhill in later episodes-- from what i've seen, more likely it was too good for tv

Just started season 2. This show is fucking great.

deflinus 08.24.2010 12:32 PM

so well written and directed. the music is great. i'm completely inspired by it

.. and its fucking hilarious.

Rob Instigator 08.24.2010 01:36 PM

My fiancee really likes Louie the show. I cannot watch it. The comedian annoys me. his standup is funny but he really grates on my nerves.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 08.24.2010 11:40 PM

Reminds me a lot of The X-Files. The surprising thing is that this show actually pre-dates the infamous series by over 5 years (according to IMDB).

Just finished season four of Dexter. What a bummer. John Lithgow is amazing though.

has anyone seen "food party" on IFC yet? I love this show. Some episodes, better than others, but they're all pretty good.

it's kinda labeled like a peewees playhouse on acid..... I'd say that's a pretty accurate synopsis

Count Mecha 08.30.2010 05:32 AM

I've seen Food Party on a couple of times and when I do I usually take a few minutes to watch. Certainly an interesting show. Maybe if I sat and watched a whole episode I'd be more into it. The show certainly has alot going on and seems wild. But I couldn't really tell what it was supposed to be about, I mean, it seems like the girl is intentionally trying to sound she's on one of those cooking shows. And I guess it's aimed at like fourteen year olds or at the least not kids, so that's interesting.

Whatever, the puppets rock.

Speaking of puppets, anyone watching this:

I haven't watched it in a while. But the first six episodes I saw have all been five star efforts.

loubarret 08.30.2010 05:58 AM

Warren the ape is like the only fun show on mtv now.

Been getting this on DVD finally. I'm up to season five.

Count Mecha 09.01.2010 11:10 PM

I'm on season 9 of X-Files myself, and boy is it depressing. Five's amazing though, one of the best ones.

Watching Simpsons for the first time ever. Little over half-way though season one. Pretty good.

Kylerobert 09.01.2010 11:19 PM

Seinfeld

atsonicpark 09.02.2010 12:26 AM

Weird, I just finished season 9 by the x-files last week. And it was terrible. That show really went to shit.

viewtiful alan redux 09.03.2010 11:31 PM

Watched a madmen my parents saved on the dvr for me.
Now:

Forgot to post about season 3 on here, but this season and that one are filled with episodes I k now like the back of my hand. I've grown up with them, always enjoyed them, and continue to do so on new levels everytime.
In my mind, The Simpsons is the best comedy series, ever. Animated or otherwise.

atsonicpark 09.04.2010 02:11 AM

which episode?

LifeDistortion 09.04.2010 11:54 AM

The last couple episodes I watched were "KillSwitch" which was one of the ones written by Willam Gibson, and "Bad Blood". A very funny episode. Some viewers say "The X-Files" had too many funny episodes towards the end of the show, but most of those were written by Vince Gilligan, so they were always great.

LifeDistortion 09.04.2010 12:03 PM

Along with (re)watching "The X-Files" I've been using Netflix instant watch to watch "Kolchak:The Night Stalker", which was the inspiration for "The X-Files". I quite like that show as well.

viewtiful alan redux 09.05.2010 12:33 AM

Inu Yasha on Adult Swim...
Its an old episode, so I actualy know whats going on. Adult swim needs to start showing good anime again.

sonic sphere 09.05.2010 09:18 AM

Count Mecha 09.05.2010 03:09 PM

Adult Swim was pretty neat back in 2002-2003 or whatever. The anime they showed then was good stuff. Yu Yu Hakusho, Gundam 0083, whatever else.

Finished the first season of The Simpsons today. First time ever watching it. Um, it's a good show, I like it quite a bit. But I don't really think it's very funny. Not that it's a big deal because the episodes are still fun to watch. I just don't laugh very much at it. I can see it's appeal, I don't know about a 21 season long appeal, but I certainly see how it became so iconic. And I hate Family Guy several more magnitudes now because I hadn't really realized how blantantly it's taken cues from The Simpsons. Though The Simpsons isn't immune from this either, it follows (albeit quite vaguely) in the footsteps of Wait Till Your Father Gets Home.

At this point though I think Futurama is the better show. But whatever, The Simpsons are cool.

viewtiful alan redux 09.05.2010 05:25 PM

Watch beyond the first season... it gets sooo much funnier.

For the first time ever? Oh boy, you are in for such a treat. I envy you almost, I'd love to wipe my memory and watch the episodes afresh as opposed to knowing every single line in each episode.

Alan that's weird, I've just started to watch season 4. I did a marathon of season 5 and 6 in the past few days and am now moving onto 4. Definitely my favourite show... ever.

chicka 09.06.2010 01:13 PM

My favorite X-files show the ones that got me hook I think season 2 maybe
was a four part "Duane Barry Knows"...

Haha yeah, you don't know how much trouble I'd get into when I told people I had never watched the show. I'd get plenty of those obvious "YOU'VE NEVER WATCHED THE SIMPSONS?!?!" outbursts. Before my actual sitting down and watching the show, I'd seen three episodes, and only one of those a full episode. The first was Homerpalooza, and this one episode where I think Lisa and this school superintendent walk into a room and this little kid calls him Super Nintendo instead. And this one a friend made me watch so I could see Homer sing The Doors' The End.

But my mom just never let me and my sister watch it as kids. Though we got away with watching much more vulgar tv I think like Ren and Stimpy and violent movies.

I watched the first episode of season 2 yesterday. Still good. Strangely my preferred moments aren't even the funny ones. Like my favorite moment of the show yet is when Bart is crying over failing his history test, and he's gushing about how hard he really tried and still failed. I really liked that.

I wish they had capitalized more on Homer's spontaneous lightning brief violent outbursts against Bart, those were hilarious. He doesn't really do that now.

Derek 09.06.2010 02:43 PM

It gets EXTREMELY good when 3 season starts. It sort of remains consistent until about season 10.
