thanks! rad album it is.
is that woody guthrie in your avatar?

Norma J 06.15.2006 02:02 AM

Sure is.

i was listenin to 'the early years' by woody earlier. i think he was really inavative in the realm of folk music. both bob dylan, and beck borrowed his lyrics and stuff. i don't like his voice as much as leadbelly's. but he's a good man

Norma J 06.15.2006 02:11 AM

Yeah, Dylan was a huge fan of Woody, and apparently friend when Woody was hospitalised. I had an earlier photo of Woody where on his acoustic is written: "This Machine Kills Fascists". But it didn't read real well in this avatar. He was definitely inavative - I couldn't imagine their to be a folk musician out there who didn't/doesn't respect Woody Guthrie. I also really like Leadbelly, too... and Beck. But I love Dylan, so much I have Dylan ink.

Woah. K.T. Tunstall just played on Leno 10 seconds after I read that, and she had that written on her guitar. That was pretty trippy. Completely confused me for a minute.

EDIT: I think this was my 666th post.

Norma J 06.15.2006 02:45 AM

HAHA. We don't get much Leno over here, unless it's late at night. So I assure you, it was merely coincidence... and obviously K.T Tunstall's liking for Mr Guthrie.

finding nobody 06.15.2006 02:48 AM

The Goon show. Episode: China Story.

She lead me across a floor so cunningly laid that no matter where you stood, it was always under your feet.

I put on xilinsupreme's 'murder license' this morning.Funny how they are the only band who can be testified to have taken the Jesus and Mary Chain's early-days sound to new extremes. If anyone has named a song better than'All you need is love was not true' in the entire world i'm a dead man.Oh,and they are from Japan.
