Side 4 of Psychic Hearts

Does anyone know if these songs are worth bying the album one more time for? Songlist is available on kung fu.

WOW! - yes, yes, yes

thanks for pointing this out....

16. Teenage Buddhist Daydream -- CINDY(ROTTENTANX) B-side, cool weird acoustic song w/ vocals + samples
17. Just Tell Her That I Really Like Her -- INSTRUMENTAL, but not an improv..from some single...
18. The Church Should Be For Outcasts, Not a Church That Casts People Out -- from the MALE SLUT single, GREAT instrumental, very slow and drawn out, the other side of ELEGY...
19. Thoodblirsty Thesbians -- from MALE SLUT as well, lots of samples from some horror movie (?..i forget the specifics), very weird and my cassette copy cuts off so I look forward to having it on vinyl...
20. Superchrist -- aka "SNOOPY" ,...played at most of the PSYCHIC HEARTS shows, but not on the LP. is this an out-take or live? either way, good to have.

this is one hot side of wax! love the etching on the original, but this is some great stuff collected in one place. very, very nice.

is vinyl out yet?

sy2004 04.23.2006 01:18 PM

Very disappointed that these are not included in the remastered CD version :(

Daycare Nation 04.23.2006 03:15 PM

I know. Marketing move? Or favoritism toward vinyl enthusiasts?

CHOUT 04.23.2006 03:19 PM

My side 4 has no songs. It has an etching by Rita Ackerman. It not the reissue though. Does the reissue have one Green disc and one Black like the original?

youthoftomorrow 04.23.2006 03:23 PM

i, too, have an original vinyl copy. mine is kinda fucked up though, so some of the songs skip (and i have no idea how it happened).

The horror movie is called The Entity. It was a delicious irony when I got the Male Slut 7" and heard this, since I had obsessed about how brutal that 'Entity' music was. I imagined it being written by SY. Then years later, I hear it on a SY related record...Obviously ripped off though.

I'm going to buy the vinyl of Psychic <3 <3 <3's--but should I get the CD remaster of Ciccone? Only one bonus track. Is the remaster all that great?

The Ciccone remaster its pretty rad. If anything, it just sounds more clean. More things are audible where they were not before ("Macbeth"). The extra track isn't all that great though. It's just MacBeth with a lame alternate drum track.

Daycare Nation 04.23.2006 05:43 PM

I might go across the street and buy it right now. It's next up in my SY marathon anyway.

Bal 04.23.2006 05:48 PM

'just tell her that i really like her' is a superb tune. always wondered where it had been released b4

Daycare Nation 04.23.2006 06:26 PM

Okay I am listening to Ciccone remaster...sounds good! Now I have to decide whether to just buy the vinyl or the vinyl AND the CD of Psychic....it sucks being an addicted completist.

I know how you feel. Everytime a new version comes out of something I already have, I have to get it.

stirling 04.23.2006 10:19 PM

A little OT, but is the reissue "Macbeth - (Alt. Mix)" the same as the original Macbeth II?

Info for CL:
I still have longboxes for DDN, Whitey, and Dirty, so Macbeth II is called "Macbeth (Steve's Funky Dub)".

Chris Lawrence 04.23.2006 10:37 PM

 YOU ROCK! that's great!

any chance you could scan the 'daydream' longbox? i have goo longbox scans to add, still, i believe...

stirling 04.23.2006 10:41 PM

You should start that Mustang Info thread. I keep coming across tidbits, but end up forgetting them.

The original vinyl was only 3 sides with an etching on the 4th side...this left an entire side of room for extra tracks... and also a way to differentiate the two vinyl releases for collectors.

I don't see a problem with that, it would have made me to buy the remastered version, now I didn't cause I have the original CD :(
