Thanks!

Glad Columbia won. Are we to now assume that, Neymar being out, Brazil will once again descend into a headless chicken on Sunday? Although reading those reports, didn't look like they were much beater even with their head in place.

Good article about Brazil's current failings

that was a damning article! and very accurate.

neymar out but so is an important venezuelan defender, who was red-carded last night. peru beat them 1-0 so now venezuela doesn't have won't have the luxury of a secured qualification-- they will play with everything.

this is turning out to be the "group of death" for sure.

demonrail666 06.19.2015 07:03 PM

Neymar now banned for 4 games

!@#$%! 06.19.2015 07:05 PM

haaaa haaaa haaa haaaaa

i was just coming in to post that

--

also, ecuador just beat méxico 2-1 (i couldn't see it)

chile 1 bolivia 0 in progress

trying to get a stream but it's gonna be tough titties as i'm in ultraslowband

==

chile 4 bolivia 0!

that's what happens when bolivia doesn't play in la paz.

almost over... maybe 5-0 before time is up lol.

oh yeah it was 5-0

bananas

a pity i couldn't see it live. though bolivia is really no opponent.

!@#$%! 06.20.2015 12:44 PM

in spite of this, bolivia qualified 2nd in the group because how mexico and ecuador sucked elsewhere

TODAY:

THE GUAY GUAR: URUGUAY + PARAGUAY - should be an interesting one. starts in about 75 minutes in think

ARGENTINA + JAMAICA - if argentina has any sense they should be playing the full bench to protect their stars for the knockout round

==

tomorrow a wounded BRAZIL plays VENEZUELA. call it schadenfreude, but i'm hoping venezuela humiliates brazil. nothing against brazil per se, but man, their teams of late... what the fuck

later COLOMBIA + PERU. on paper, colombia should give peru a spanking. but colombia has been underperforming so we'll see-- they still shoudl win though.

!@#$%! 06.20.2015 03:27 PM

my internet died at 19' of the 2nd half of uru 1 - para 1

GACK

!@#$%! 06.20.2015 03:44 PM

well still 1-1 and nothing.

!@#$%! 06.20.2015 04:52 PM

if i was a jamaican player, i'd treasure today as one of the greatest in my life

the chance to face messi, di maria, higuaín, mascherano... holy fuck

and i'd still tell the story 50 years hence

--

1-0 the score, argentina completely dominates, but one never knows. right?

---

"...and then messi swung around inside the area, and i blocked his shot..."

"...and then i slammed pastore and got a yellow card..."

"...and then di maria shot this cannonball of a corner and i caught it mid-air..."

"...and then di maria beat everyone running on a counterattack and then shot straight to the goal and i was the last man and i saved it..."

"...and then di maria shot right under the crosspost from the edge of the area for a sure goal but i jumped like a jaguar and punched it out..."

"...and then i was running up in a very fast counter but pastore shoved and kick me, and they reorganized for the free kick, and this is why we didn't tie..."

Yeah, I love those sort of mismatches, where the opposition is probably psyched just to be there, while at the same time knowing anything could happen.

Imagine playing against Uruguay and showing your grandkids the bite mark to prove it.

h8kurdt 06.21.2015 01:30 PM

I have had the misfortune of watching the last two England U-21's games. Been rare where I've seen games as dire as them. Just awful.

I've been listening to them on the radio. They have sounded awful, although Stuart Pearce's commentaries haven't helped. If he says "at this moment in time" one more time ...

And if this is all about grooming Southgate for the main job, then God help us. Much rather it was Gary Neville, even with his massive Man U bias.

ps finally tuned to per 0 col 0 @ 64'

peru needs a win for sure, colombia i'm not sure-- jackson martinez in for greasehead falcao

--

wait wait wait i got it ALL WRONG

0-0 puts peru 1st place in the group, colombia 2n, brazil 3rd, venezuela 4th-- with one game missing

peru goes for sure, either 1st or 2nd--- the others depend on the brazil-venezuela result. which is bananas.

This. The way I look at it is can you actually imagine Southgate bollocking you and you taking it seriously? No. No, you really can't. He doesn't have a look of a manager you'd take seriously.

Hopefully gonna get to watch that in a bit.

I actually decided to re-watch the Brazil-Germany game from the last world cup last might whilst hammered with a friend of mine. At first it seems like Brazil would be ok and keep it together. Then goals start, and even on re-watch it's still crazy to see the score of 5-0 before half-time. A game to always remember.

The best bit is the kid crying his tears into a cup. Ooh I've found it.

Yes... yesss, let your tears flow.

!@#$%! 06.21.2015 05:11 PM

ha ha ha ha ha ha

shit i think the game started but i just woke up

==

ps- for the ingleses, it's on something called "premier live"

==

SO: brazil won 2-1 because venezuela only made it interesting in the end

group c goes:
brazil first w/ 6pt
peru 2nd, 4pt beating colombia just by goals in favor
colombia 3rd 4pt makes it through as one of the best 3rd places (odd rule to make up for having only 12 teams)
venezuela out w/ 3pt

holy shit! you too? where are you, in the boonies? i thought you were civilized. anyway, welcome to my life.

low quality streams will only eat 200-300mb per game. yes they look splotchy but it's like watching an old crt tv in a bar while drunk.

web browsing does not eat a lot if you disable images + turn off video autoplay... but a lot of sites are non-functional these days without images.

youtube at 144p ONLY.

adblock is also your friend. i use safari adblock-- for you, depending on browser.

the biggest eater of data for me have been cloud services-- the iphone that auto-uploads every picture it takes, the spotify that makes offline files available, etc. also, auto-updates, which can eat up to 5GB in one sitting (e.g., a new OSX or iOS is revealed, and blam), all that has to be monitored, turned off, and scheduled manually for optimal use of bandwidth.

ha ha ha ha. i am so familiar w/ this shit, my data use is ultralean.

anyway, don't worry, elon musk is coming to the rescue with a swarm of cheap satellites...

... some years from now. :(

no games today or tomorrow i believe! restarting wednesday if i'm not wrong. so there's a break.

demonrail666 06.22.2015 02:36 PM

Yeah, very much in the boonies (although obviously not as remote as you).

I've managed to minimise unnecessary net usage by disabling all the things you mentioned but it's such a pain, going from unlimited usage, that I had in London, to suddenly having to watch my every move.

!@#$%! 06.22.2015 02:48 PM

yeah i went bananas when i first moved here. had a really crummy 500mb/day and you couldn't bank it for a big download--- it was use it or lose it.

now i have a "business-class" satellite that still feels like it's 1997.

i get 25gb/mo. what's your monthly quota?
