I hope it's still up when I get home later tonite.

The site is busy now, but I again thank you.
Does anyone know if the Lucifer Rising tracks are covers of Jimmy Page's Lucifer Rising song?

Edit: Sorry, dumb question. Ignore it.

Everyneurotic 10.17.2006 03:59 PM

jimmy page originally wrote and recorded lucifer rising for the kenneth anger film of the same name; seeing as this is a salute to mr. anger's it's probably a reinterpretation.

thanks marley, by the way, i'm almost done downloading and will listen to it in a bit.

Bobby Beausoleil was the one who actually did the soundtrack (from prison, even) to this fantastic film. Jimmy Page was given his walking papers by Kenneth Anger after hearing what Bobby was coming up with. I think the right decision was made.

Everyneurotic 10.17.2006 04:31 PM

i never said it was used, did i?

yeah, bobby beausoleil's version is on the film.

Listening to it now.
I listen to nearly half of Lucifer Rising 1 and though I was impressed, it's not something I feel like listening to now. Part 2 was better.
Listening to Innaguration of The Pleasure Dome and am impressed.

^: Jim's stuff off this recording is my favorite out of all of them. I'm not saying I didn't like Fantomas' & John Zorn's interpretations of "Lucifer Rising", but I just thought the great O'Rourke's stuff was better.

nice one, thank you.

Can you re-upload these links again?

hipster_bebop_junkie 12.22.2010 02:16 AM

Not sure if i have this. Gotta check on my archives, if i don't find it, i might join the ranks of people requesting a reupload of these files.

I'm sure i have the Jimmy Page soundtrack for "Lucifer Rising" and can certainly provide that one in the meantime. For the Zorn, Fantomas, & O'Rourke thing, i'll have to go through a pile of CD-Rs. If i've actually got it, i will find it, no matter what.

EDIT:
"A Taste Of Satan: The Lucifer Rising Variations", by Jimmy Page is now available at the bootlegs thread:

Hopefully, this will be of some interest for somebody. I'll take a look around to see if i can contribute with the Fantomas, John Zorn, and Jim O'Rourke version at some point.

any hope for these links being uploaded again?
