Got a similar item via discogs: the Jay-Reatard-split in white vinyl with that HC and no number. But don't know anything about it.

I was thrilled to get THE ONLY copies that arrived at my local store of those 2 7"s on Record Store Day that year.

I think I have found out what this 'HC' means.

Of all things, whilst watching Pawn Stars, there was a customer with an art print that did not have an edition number, but simply 'HC.' The art appraiser indicated it was 'Hors Commerce' which I think is what should be 'Hors d' Commerce' -- which is French for 'not for trade.'

My guess is these are numbers pressed in addition to the edition of 100 and given to executives, band members, etc . . . and, as the art appraiser indicated, there is no real way to tell how many 'HC' items were made.\

Perhaps they mistyped . . . ? It is now £11.00. Darn. Was about to slap down the 99.

Is this official? I've never seen anything like it on eBay or the archive before. I wonder what, if any, inserts this has.

SONIC YOUTH 5 CD Album Box Set 1990 - 98 Ltd Numbered 107 Goo Dirty

krischanski 04.05.2013 02:55 AM

You were faster ...

The seller has more of theese from Smashing Pumpkins, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Dinosaur Jr etc. To me it looks like common CDs with (well) selfmade boxes around, but I don't know.

Is it any good? Just checked Discogs: a Dutch seller had it for 13 euros so I snapped it up.

Why would you want to buy that bootleg?

For "liberation" purposes - in due time, I'll probably get about what I paid for it (and even a small loss would be acceptable).

Recently bought Ecoute Ca Coco and Energy for the exact same purpose.

Hey martin, come here. Sit down beside me. There's something I gotta ask ya. I just wanna know, what are you gonna do for me? I mean, are you gonna liberate us bootlegs from Amazon's corporate oppression?

Amidst all the dumb flames, juvenile crap and spambots there are occasional nuggets of gold on this board - I laughed so hard I almost spit coffee over my keyboard. Salut, noizy!

Chris Habib Original VHS Recording 1995 Rita auckerman sonic youth gay interest

blunderbuss 08.21.2013 11:52 PM

I think I'll leave the way clear for others to bid on that one, excellent though it might be. Maybe Rappard could liberate it :D

Chris Lawrence 08.21.2013 11:58 PM

They did 3 shows at the Academy on Oct 20/21 1995. It says "Show 1" on the tape so presumably it's the 10/20/95 gig, but they did 2 shows on 10/21 so it may have been the first show of that night.

Male Slut show could be this one, which features a particularly tasty set list.

tesla69 08.22.2013 09:04 AM

Thats a lot of money for a couple of shows, even if its a Gen 0 tape, the listing doesn't say if you get "ownership rights" of the recordings, or if Habib reserves those.
