i have to answer this question in a paper for school and i have no idea what to write. i have looked it up on the internet and some people say yes and some say no. what do you think? help me.

i can't believe this is a question either. i always thought it was a myth, but apparently people have traced family lines and all that stuff.

Real? Is it really that important whether he was 'real' in the sense of having lived? I think it's more important that he represents, in the collective consciousness, something we all appreciate, ergo, the conquering of vulgar capitalisms injustice. See also Christ, Mohammed. What's more important is what he represents, rather than the ostensive 'facts' of the 'myth'.

It's one of those questions which will never have a definitive answer. Apparently the character was based on a real person, people will have their opinions nobody actually knows.

It's one of those annoying questions you get at school where you have to weigh up all the evidence, discuss all aspects and come to the conclusion that there is no answer.
