Hey Kids,
This is it! The biggest Screen Arts show of the year! So big The Gallery at Screen Arts had to move it to the Casa Monica Hotel Main Ballroom to accomodate it! Tonight Oct. 5th, it’s Keep a Breast Foundation’s ‘Breast Defense - Glamour Girls for Early Detection’ Art Exhibit featuring custom painted plaster torso casts of the world’s top Burlesque Dancers cast at this years ‘Miss Exotic World Pageant’ in Las Vegas at the Burlesque Hall of Fame.
This is the premiere showing of the casts which will feature casts by Iggy Pop, Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo, Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth, Derek Hess, KRK Ryden, Attaboy, Annie Owens, Mitch O’Connell, Ronnie Land, Molly Crabapple, PJ Fidler, George Long, Gabriel Schafer, Chase, Sarah Emerson, David Cutter, Tony Rodrigues, Tonya Lee, Mark George, Ian Chase, Nash, Scott Ewalt and Charlene Lanzel. Each cast is unique and original! The casts will travel from St. Augustine to Las Vegas where they will be exhibited again in June 2008 and then culiminate in Los Angeles in October 2008 after which they will be auctioned online at http://keep-a-breast.org/home.htm .
YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS EVENT! FLORIDA HAS NEVER SEEN A DISPLAY OF ART OF THIS KIND!!! BE THE FIRST TO SEE IT - BEFORE LAS VEGAS AND L.A.!!! NOW THAT’S A FIRST!!! (sorry, i just had to yell that part)
The FREE Opening October 5th begins at 5p and runs until 9p. Free refreshments will be served including rap snacks. DJ Michael Birchall will be spinning for the duration. Shaney Jo Darden from Keep a Breast Foundation will be on location to talk about what they do.
