Stick to this thread......don’t recall discussing Trump anywhere else here at SYG???

Impeachment doesn’t necessarily mean the President is removed from office. It’s only occurred twice in our Country’s history and both Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton survived their Senate trials. Impeachment is difficult by design!!!

My Understanding Of How Impeachment Works

A. Speaker Pelosi announced the formal impeachment inquiry.

B. An impeachment resolution must be introduced into the House of Representatives.

C. Speaker Pelosi has to direct the House Committee on the Judiciary to hold a hearing on the resolution to decide whether to put the measure to a vote by the full House of Representatives.

D. a minimum 20 votes in favor of impeachment for the resolution to move to a full vote in the House of Representatives.

E. a simple majority of representatives in the House is required to approve an article of impeachment, meaning it would take 218 votes in order to officially impeach the president. If 218 members of the House of Representatives vote to impeach President Trump, he's impeached......maybe???

G. Impeachment then moves to the Senate and they have a trial for President Trump to determine if he committed a crime. The proceedings resemble an actual criminal trial with the Senate serving as jurors. The Chief Justice Of The Supreme Court —John Roberts— is the presiding Judge.

H. to remove President Trump from office......all 45 Democratic Senators, both independents and 20 Republicans Senators would ALL need to vote guilty.

The Trump administration announced yesterday that, for the third year in a row, it would be cutting the number of refugees admitted to the US, this time to just 18,000 for fiscal 2020. That's down from a target of 110,000 in 2016, Barack Obama's final year in office (when we actually admitted only 97,000). The cap on refugee admissions is the lowest in modern history, despite an ongoing international refugee crisis that has left almost 71 million people displaced around the world. It's just the latest move in Stephen Miller's agenda of eliminating both legal and illegal immigration.

Added to the mix of major economic blunders by incompetent con man Donald "Only I Can Fix It" Trump, most prominently the trade and tariff war with China and numerous other countries, add the tax giveaway for the one percent and corporations. As reported by Americans for Tax Fairness yesterday, instead of reducing the Federal deficit by a trillion dollars, as robotic foreclosure villain Treasury Secretary Steve "Mnuttin'"Mnuchin promised two years ago, the deficit has grown by $1.067 trillion just in the first 11 months of this fiscal year which ends tomorrow.

It was a classic trickle down / supply side grift to benefit the Republican donor class and corporations, who ended up using the tax savings to buy back stock. The Republicans hoped to con the public by promising more jobs, investment, etc., hoping that they'd notice the slightest increase in their paychecks. What they will also notice in the coming months are Republican -proposed reductions in social safety net programs:
"As the deficit swells because of the tax cuts mostly benefitting the wealthy and corporations, which will cost $1.9 trillion over 10 years, Trump and his allies in Congress are proposing cuts in critical services – Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, etc. – to cover the cost." (our emphasis)
Some less- swift Republicans have said that quiet part out loud. If Dems can't run on this issue and raise the alarm, then they're guilty of gross political malpractice.

Yuri Lutsenko, a former top Ukrainian prosecutor, told The Washington Post that Hunter Biden did not violate any laws while he was on the board of Ukrainian private gas company Burisma. “From the perspective of Ukrainian legislation, he did not violate anything,” Lutsenko told the Post in his first interview since news broke on Friday of a whistleblower complaint alleging President Trump pressured Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, to investigate a family member of his political rival. “Hunter Biden cannot be responsible for violations of the management of Burisma that took place two years before his arrival,” Lutsenko told the Post.

Burisma was under scrutiny for possible abuse of power and unlawful enrichment before Hunter Biden was involved in the company, and he has never been accused of any wrongdoing in the investigation. Regardless, President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani has alleged that the former vice president’s son was involved in corruption during his nearly five years at Burisma, but has not provided any evidence to support those claims. Since Giuliani stirred up the allegations against Biden’s son, The Daily Beast has learned that the Ukraine is likely to pursue the cases Trump urged Zelensky to reconsider during their notorious phone call—but not in the way Trump intended.

Now that last line in the article alludes to the fact that the new administration in Ukraine is going to reopen a number of investigations that were likely shut down due to payoffs and corruption in the government.

However none of those investigations are targeted toward Hunter Biden specifically.

In fact Ukraine’s opinion of his father Joe Biden could not be more glowing.

Here was a response from, Valentin Nalyvaichenko, Ukraine’s former head of intelligence courtesy of The Daily Beast:

A major part of the Trump narrative is that in 2016 then-Vice President Biden pressed for the resignation of Shokhin in order to protect his son. That is not the way people in Ukraine remember things. Lutsenko’s reputation for corruption was infamous, and Biden supported the efforts of Ukraine’s reformers to be rid of him.

According to Nalyvaichenko, Lutsenko needs to be investigated further, not least because he has been in communication with Trump’s agents “for vindictive purposes.”

Nalyvaichenko said Ukraine should also be interested in a thorough investigation into the “black ledger” that recorded slush-fund payments to Trump’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort.

So they are not so interested in chasing false allegations against the Bidens. but are quite interested in investigating those who may have communicated with the Trump’s people for “vindictive purposes.”

Here is what Nalyvaichenko said specifically about Joe Biden:

Nalyvaichenko says he has no ill will toward Biden. He remembers the U.S. vice president as one of the “bravest” Ukraine friends coming from Washington during the first and most violent year of war with the Kremlin-backed forces.

“Biden asked me about Russia’s aggression at the time when not many believed in it,” Nalyvaichenko said. He said Ukraine’s intelligence service shared with U.S. officials data they had at the time on Russian military forces fighting in Ukraine.

Nalyvaichenko said Biden did not shrink from denouncing corruption. “He is a man of sharp and fresh thoughts; he had no fear to turn with his face to the government, to our prime minister and top politicians and say: ‘You have corruption at a high level.’”

So it appears that rather than concoct some bullshit case to punish Joe Biden in order to please Donald Trump, that the Ukraine officials are more likely to give Biden a key to the city and turn their investigative powers toward Paul Manafort and the Trump Administration.

From the Atlanta Journal Constitution
“Impeachment was established by the framers of the Constitution as a way to accuse a president of a crime and to hold a trial to determine if he is guilty of that crime. The Constitution lays out two specific actions, treason and bribery, that could lead to impeachment and removal of a president from office.

A president can also be charged with and found guilty of “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

What exactly constitutes high crimes and misdemeanors is not defined in the Constitution, making impeachment on that basis more difficult.”

Federal judge won’t allow Trump to expand family detention

https://www.politico.com/news/2019/0...entions-006575

A federal judge blocked a Trump administration regulation Friday that would allow families to be detained for lengthy periods of time.

Los Angeles-based U.S. District Judge Dolly Gee ruled that the regulation— set to take effect Oct. 22 — violated the terms of the so-called Flores settlement agreement, which currently governs the standards for the detention of migrant children. Under the terms of the agreement and subsequent court rulings, children cannot be detained with their parents for longer than 20 days.

h8kurdt - evidently you believe the White House has done something to try and hide the full transcript......is that wrong, is it illegal?

NO

Is it questionable, maybe?

Before you cry hypocrisy, question this......can you or anyone reading this cite one situation where a sitting President had their privileged and private phone conversations released?

Especially when it’s with another World leader or Head of State?

I don’t believe anyone can!

But let’s be clear, the transcript is accounted for. It wasn’t moved to a server setup in a pizza shop janitors closet......no one accidentally destroyed the transcript along with 33,000 emails.

We know of this transcript due to the Whistle-Blower Complaint. In the United States Judicial System, the first hurdle is......will the document stand up in Court?

In the Whistle-Blowers own words: “I was not a direct witness to most of the events described.“

OBJECTION - HEARSAY - SUSTAINED

h8kurdt - as the SYG residency lawyer......do you see anyway the Whistle-Blower Complaint is admissible?

Does, OBJECTION - HEARSAY - SUSTAINED, get the Complaint Document thrown out based on the Whistle-Blowers comments......is it that easy?

If what the President discussed was illegal or wrong, why would House Intelligence Chair, Adam Schiff, need to make up and fabricate parts of the transcript?

Adam Schiff said: “In essence, what the President Trump communicates is this: We’ve been very good to your country. Very good. No other country has done as much as we have. But you know what, I don’t see much reciprocity here. You know what I mean? I hear what you want. I have a favor I want from you through. And I’m going to say this only seven times, so you better listen good. I want you to make up dirt on my political opponent, understand?”

Again, if the President truly did something wrong, why the rush to fabricate and make up lies? Is Adam Schiff just as delusional as Juvenile !@#$%!......their only goal and purpose is slinging poo?

Learning of suspicious activity concerning the Whistle Blower Complaint document......why did the intelligence community in conjunction with the Congressional Research Service in regard to the matter of —Disclosure Of URGENT CONCERN— gut the requirement of “first hand whistle blower knowledge?”

The complaint form was revised in August 2019 just before the Whistle Blower Complaint was made public???

”Compelling new evidence now shows that the purportedly nonpartisan Congressional Research Service (CRS) may have been weaponized to mislead members of Congress and the American people — all in the name of advancing the impeachment process against President Trump.”

Oddly, this Chuck Woolery tweet sums it up nicely

Rebecca Solnit:

The man in the white house sits, naked and obscene, a pustule of ego, in the harsh light, a man whose grasp exceeded his understanding, because his understanding was dulled by indulgence. He must know somewhere below the surface he skates on that he has destroyed his image, and like Dorian Gray before him, will be devoured by his own corrosion in due time too. One way or another this will kill him, though he may drag down millions with him. One way or another, he knows he has stepped off a cliff, pronounced himself king of the air, and is in freefall. Another dungheap awaits his landing; the dung is all his; when he plunges into it he will be, at last, a self-made man.

Bytor Peltor 10.02.2019 12:42 AM

President Donald Trump (May 24, 2019)

“The Attorney General is one of the most respected people in this country and he has been for a long period of time. He is going to look at a lot of documents. Some he might find interesting; maybe he’ll find none interesting.

But for over a year, people have asked me to declassify. So what I’ve done is I’ve declassified everything. He can look. And I hope he looks at the UK, and I hope he looks at Australia, and I hope he looks at Ukraine. I hope he looks at everything, because there was a hoax that was perpetrated on our country. It’s the greatest hoax”

In the late 90’s, President Bill Clinton negotiated a treaty with the Ukraine:

Ukraine and The U.S. Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance In Criminal Matters ratified by the United States Senate in October 2000 under a Democratic President. The purpose of this treaty was to help counter criminal activity more effectively in a wide variety of crimes.

What President Trump called for in May (see above quote) and what John Durham is doing now is 100% consistent with that treaty! So not only was President Trumps phone call with the Ukraine legal, it was also protected by law!
