Orbital - Brown Album
|
Now I am listening to the Galactic Explorers track on Unknown Deutschland Vol 3: Ethereal Jazz. Before that, the videos of Double Leopards, Nautical Almanac & Lee Ranaldo/Roger Miller/William Hooker off Fun From None Festival. Last night, Hecker's Sun Pandemonium.
|
New Young Pony Club's new LP - the company sent through a promo to the paper. It's surprisingly good, actually.

Yeah, that was a while ago. I've done a 180. I now consider Forever Changes probably my favorite album. Da Capo's also great. I need to track down the first LP (on Sundazed, of course). I'm obsessed with this band right now, actually. I kept forcing myself to listen to F.C., and on something like the sixth time, this light went off in my head and I fell totally in love with the album, through and through. I think it's amazing. |
The band Axe (who had a couple of reissues on the semi-exploitive Kissing Spell label) did a really great version of "A House Is Not A Motel" in 1969.

Brand new album by Gowns called Red State. So damn good! Parts make Low seem like speed metal, other parts get heavy on the verge (just the verge) or noisy. Beautiful music.

Pussy Galore - Exile On Main Street

nurse with wound.

Started the day with the excellent Bark Haze LP. side 2 with Nolan is a real treat. Gown's riff sounds like Candle and then when Thurston starts with the slide it gets real delicious.
Just dropped the needle on Meditations by John Coltrane, a new acquisition. Sounding hella good. Somewhere between Love Supreme and Ascension. |
