i had never seen miracle on 34th street until tonight. for that matter, i'd never seen a christmas story until last year. go figure that one.

Meh. Christmas Story is overplayed and overrated.

I just wrote a big ass reply, then I realized you and I were thinking of two different movies.
The one Im thinking of has a similar title and is an Italian film. It's about a Dad and Son that get sent to a concentration camp during WWII.

agreed. not so miracle on 34th street though. i liked that one. i dunno, there's something about the antiquity and quaint innocence of it.

Hate Miracle. Christmas Story is a childhood classic.

I don't really enjoy Christmas specials too much, especially miracle on 34th, but I love the original Rudolf stop-motion ones. And on Halloween the original Ghostbusters were soooo good.

My mom was watching It's A Wonderful Life earlier. It's never been able to hold my attention though.

Christmas Story is alright, I've seen it way too many times.

Personally, I love Christmas Vacation. So funny.

i've never been able to sit through it all the way because i think it's corny. but i'm bitter.

a christmas story bored me. rudolph and charlie brown are the only specials i like watching.

Charlie Brown Xmas has a very special place in my heart.

mine too! i missed it this year (as with the thanksgiving) but usually i watch with my brother and we make popcorn and pile on the blankets. it's not cold, but he likes that feeling.

...black and white is all I need. Nothing wrong with a decent old film, even though this christmas theme is a bit meh dull. At least these cliché ones. Like Dickens' Christmas Story.
