Will Jesus & Mary Chain continue after Coachella?

I really hope the answer is yes so I don't have to drive to California

Sonic Youth 37 02.26.2007 08:19 PM

Yes yes please yes!!!!!!! I MUST see them!

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 02.26.2007 08:40 PM

If the reunion is good I hope they do.

EyeballGrowth 02.27.2007 12:15 AM

They reaaally really should. Even if it's just one tour, they HAVE to. That would be fucking IT

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 02.27.2007 12:17 AM

Is their sister gonna be at Coachella with them?

I know their later stuff isn't as popular, but I think her contributions were nice.

sonic sphere 02.27.2007 06:50 AM

here's hoping that they do. would love to see them again

porkmarras 02.28.2007 10:47 AM

Nah,they should just count the cash and tell their fans to go and fuck themselves. That would be more in the original spirit of JAMC.

sonicl 02.28.2007 11:51 AM

I sincerely hope they don't continue. As a young music fan, part of their appeal was to do with anarchy. There's nothing very anarchic about trying to relive the past, is there?

dazedcola 02.28.2007 12:44 PM

I want them to, just so i can see them again live. why should only people at one concert get to see the reunion.I think if JAMC gets a good response from the audience they might at least consider doing a full fledged reunion tour.

I heard they've lined up a couple of other dates at festivals in Europe but beyond that they're not sure. I read an interview with the bass player and he said that Jim just told him to learn 21 singles, so I guess the set list is going to be a greatest hits type thing. I also saw an interview with Jim saying there is a possibility of a new album, depending on how everything else goes.

How the hell is wanting to hear an amazing band perform amazing music trying to relive the past? Good music is timeless. I guess were all living in the past listening to Sonic Youth

Nonsense.

GrungeMonkey 03.01.2007 02:57 PM

I hope they keep on going... I'd love to see them live.

porkmarras 03.01.2007 02:59 PM

Will Jesus And Mary Chain ever fuck off to the sound of a packet of crisps being crumpled in one's hand? We'll never know.

I'd go if they dropped by, but I'd have low expectations. It's not like they'd timewarp back to their Psychocandy youthfulness and even if they did no-one really wants to be abused while hearing walls of feedback.
But then again...

EyeballGrowth 03.04.2007 08:46 PM

who cares what their age is?
