Classic album #13 - The Psychedelic Furs

Great album that I can listen to again and again.
Sounds as fresh now as it did 27 years ago.

Sister Europe, India, and Fall are the stand out tracks, although the whole album is excellent.

My copy has a different cover (it's black and green). My favourite track is by far An imitation of Christ (one of the best post-punk songs ever).

I love the Furs. I play their greatest hits, ALL THIS AND NOTHING (great title BTW) all the time.

Fantastic album. Pulse and We Love You are the ones that do it for me.

Mine's the same. I think the pink & black version is a re-release

Has anyone notice that there is a strong similarity between Sister Europe and In your house by The Cure ? I'm not sure which song was released first, I think it's Sister Europe (and that would be logical as The Cure loved The Psychedelic Furs).

Both albums came out in 1980, so I guess it's probably a coincidence.

Furs self titled is fantastic. Their first two are classic. I like Talk Talk Talk a little better. More variety of tunes, same raw energy. My fave is probably "Into you like a Train" on that one.

On the self titled it's "India". "Soap Commercial" is a close second. The sax was a huge part of their first two records..

Yeah, I'm not usually that keen on sax's in rock bands, but it really complemented Richard Butler's voice.
