Fine Arts Found Here...

www.segment16.com

I got lucky & happened to see an exhibit of theirs @ a skate shop in Asheville.
I was waiting for the Dinosaur Jr. show to start, & I decided to walk the streets of downtown. & lo & behold, this skate shope is holding an art exhibit. Funny side note, the skate video showing, was playing the "Superstar" cover by Sonic Youth.

The artists include:
Ryan Ford
Julie Armbruster
Ted Harper
Alli Good

Anyway, check out the site, & let me know what you think.

Cool. How many paintings were being shown?

marleypumpkin 06.30.2006 01:26 AM

About, 20-30. Give or take. But there were alot of object pieces as well.
All in all, a great showing.

Now, I haven't checked the whole site yet, but from the looks of the "previous shows" page, I'd say it's a decent site.

Enjoy!

Bacon's work is brilliant!

krastian 06.30.2006 02:38 AM

Hell yeah, he's one of my top 3 or so painters/artists.

I'm really ignorant when it comes to art. I gotta go out to some galleries. Edvard Much is pretty badass, though.

My favorite painting of all time.

The creepiest picture ever. Entitled "Dead Mother."

Here's a nice site about art on the edge of politics and tactical media.

There's loads of info and some impressive guerrilla art like this link:
There's nudity, so don't say I didn't warn you.
How's this for a statement. Ladies of the board?
