I think you can tell an awful lot by watching a mediocre video on youtube. The harp was low at times, but they also got really loud and raunchy at points with those acoustic guitars. Sure, no bass...not very traditional for rock - based music, but then again neither is violin or harp...in the same way John isn't a traditional drummer. It was 15 bucks. I had a great time. I feel like i got my moneys worth watching one of my favorite artists perform for not much more than I'd spend on some crummy movie ticket or the actual new record itself.

You sound bitter. Maybe jealous. If ya weren't at the show and you don't like the video you've posted of the show...just be glad ya didn't spend 15 bucks.

Why dont you go turn on yr black light and watch joan jett perform with the foo fighters...lol

This show was a huge let down. Im glad i didn't go. The performance was a sloppy mess. You would think after playing so many shows on this solo tour it would have been a lot tighter performance. I can't believe how long the pauses were in between songs and all of the awkward silence. The drums were too loud and Thurston's guitar was too low in the mix. John Maloney still can't play drums, he messed up so many times. The lack of a bass player made it sound hollow and empty. I couldn't even hear the Harp at all and the violin was way too loud. I thought it was kind of unprofessional to be so lackadaisical with the performance. It was kind of a slap in the face to the paying audience. What's this amazing thing about? It looks like the most exciting thing about the night was the merch booth, since the performance sucked.

Thanks for the video but no thanks for yr comments, I have to disagree with pretty much everything you said. Did you watch it all? Maybe the harp was a bit quiet but I could hear it. It looks and sounds like it was a good show to me...

Welcome to the future

Yeah, bunnyboyz; I can't see such sloppiness even though the quality of the youboob vid is far from perfect.

awesome, I already saw the pictures... on faceb00k. I am very jealous.Too bad Sonic Youth and the members of SY don't come down to Florida. Have they ever played here? oh well.

Man, honestly...I barely spoke with him. This was taken before the show, and Meghan said she wanted to get her picture taken with him while he wasn't looking too incredibly busy. Just walked up, asked for a pic, shook hands, told him I enjoyed his music, and that was about the extent of it. He was super nice.

Don't take my review personal, lets just blame the sound guy for the mistakes. I can't believe SY just posted a link to the video on Facebook and gave credit to Stu. Im the one who posted it, not Stu. Some dude named Jason uploaded it to Youtube. They always give thanks to Stu. I blame Steve Shelley, it's his fault. What were they selling at the merch booth. Did you get any pics of it?

What I remember of the merch booth:

Signed Thurston tour poster

Demolished Thoughts (purchased)

Thurston Moore - Built for Lovin' (which I purchased. Limited to 500 copies and my collectors instinct got the best of me)

Mirror/Dash - Electric Pen/Gum (purchased)

Some stuff related to other members of the band, can't remember specifics though. Some Sunburned material, Hush Arbors, etc.

Sonic Youth - TV Shit

Thurston "Trees" shirt.

A couple other Sonic/Sonic related items I can't honestly recall the names of.

AND...seriously, you missed an awesome show. Don't tell anyone else from SY I said this, but I actually enjoyed this show more than the last Youth show I saw (2008). I mean, that was a fantastic show, too...this was just something really special, I think. I was honestly anticipating being disappointed, not really being accustomed to seeing members of SY solo (saw SY several times)...but seeing 'em like this was beyond interesting. Thurston, always talkative during performances, was even more so here.

Lee is coming to Atlanta sometime over the next few months.

They were. Meghan and Jenny just kept taking random pics during the show. I've got some more I'll post later at some point.

REALLY wish you could have been there, man. We gotta hang out sometime before long. Beer and Stooges.

haha, I think it was because I shared the video on facebook after seeing it on here then SY shared it via my link on fb.... I guess it's because they/he saw it on there first....

Poor Steve, I don't think he'd ever do anything wrong!

I never claimed to have filmed or uploaded it!
